I picked up one of them tube amps that started popping up everywhere lately. I don't know if they're actually any good because I'm the opposite of an audiophile but they sure look fucking awesome. Very happy so bragging

... than they actually got.
As Friends Rust
From the perspective of some 20 years, as I'm listening to those records now, they really do hold up for me.
Awesome lyrics and great music. I wonder if it's because they popped up at a wrong time? Late 90s were still all about the chugga chugga type shit and early 2000s saw that transition back into old school with all of them new labels popping up B9, DB23, Youngblood, Lockin Out etc. AFR didn't really fit into any of that at that time.
Maybe the fact that Damien stopped being sxe for whatever reasons he had, maybe that put some kind of stigma on them as well. I vaguely remember being at one of them bigger fests in Belgium, I think it was Ieper? where AFR headlined one of the days. They played London some 2 days later. I was standing and chatting with Kurt Catalyst and a bunch of random kids when Damien came up and said "Hey Kurt, long time no see" or something to that effect and Kurt completely blanked him. Damien stood there with his hand outstretched for some seconds and walked away. Kurt really didn't like them edge breakers haha.
All that aside, after all these years AFR still have legs in my opinion. More than any of the Catalyst bands I'd say haha. I've just looked on discogs and it turns out that I'm missing a lot of their releases. Time to get on it... Seems like they've released some The Best Ofs and other what nots in the past few years.
It seems they're still going as well, which is great.

yes, I do those too. When it comes to collecting Smiths records, people often talk about Irish pressings with double dip (underneath the) labels. Funny enough I am trying to differentiate the Irish (Dublin plant) pressings from other plants' pressings for the early SLF Suspect Device. I found I had an extra version that wasn't listed on discogs when I tried to organise them chronologically.

For the blue note label the outer “ring” it is commonly called “deep groves”. (And is an indicator of an earlier press). Not helping haha

Anyone see the recent post on SOIA Facebook page? “This seem appropriate for a #waybackwednesday post. My dad found some test pressings of our first 7inch while cleaning up his house! One is for the actual first 7 inch the other is for a limited pressing for the Gilman St. record swap. Now if he could only find my United blood 7 inch and my Victim In Pain gatefold sleeve on Rat Cage records! “ Test presses ...

What do you call the ring or in some cases rings around the centre hole? Like here: They can be different depending on the machine used to press records: I thought it was called deep groove but as I googled it now it seems that DG only refers to the outer ring in pre-1960s LPs like here: Anybody? Throw some terminology my way please.

It'll be interesting to see if/how the fallout of their last US tour will affect the upcoming European tour. For all I care they don't need to bother coming over. What fallout? I've not been paying attention. What happened?

What do you have?
Also, when keeping records in the garage, I hope you're somewhere like California not Florida. Otherwise you might find that your records now walk and talk back to you 🤣

Marcus, I might be wrong about this but those tokens were first created to assign to digital works of art in order to prove they're original and also as a proof of ownership. Then it quickly went off the rails. Now it's like a billion dollar market where people buy and sell utter shite like the thing above. I read the article twice and I still have no idea what is going on. I fundamentally do not understand what is being sold / bought. A picture? But why would I buy the CK48 thing if I own the record and can just take a photo of the sleeve myself? And why do these NFT things seem to sell for such a lot of money? Like, if I stump up and pay the money for one of these, what do I get? I feel disappointed that: i) I cannot understand what the hell is going on ii) Society has reached a point where people are buying & selling such utter nonsense

The point is I have a lot of filler. Smaller stuff no one really gives a shit about. So yeah. Instagram is great to sell something better I guess. To make space I'd still need something where I can just list stuff and leave it there. I'll stick to discogs and yahoo.

I've had a bunch of records up on discogs, ebay and on japanese auction sites. While the fees on discogs (8%) and Japanese yahoo auctions (7%) were reasonable (the fees for sale only, they don't touch the postage) ebay was still acceptable with the 11% or 12% they had (they do charge the fees on sale + postage though which is a bit grabby). After switching to that fucking Payoneer system (which was a headache, in the registration process they fucking asked me to provide details of my "company's" stockholders!!! What? Fucking idiots) I sold a record yesterday for $180 + $25 postage and after deducting their fees ebay forwarded to the payoneer account ... wait for it... $168
That's $37 fees on a $180 record which is exactly 20.5%
Fuck em

I've just noticed that DISCOGS says that the yellow/gold vinyl was the 2nd pressing?? It actually stated it was 2nd pressing out of 200. The 200 definitely isn't correct. I've changed it to a correct 1000. www.discogs.com/release/1907937What about the 2nd pressing bit? I always though that the 1st press was: Red 200 Gold 1000 Black 3200 Which are the numbers from the "Official Victory Pressing Info" they had floating about years ago. Was the gold vinyl 2nd pressing or wasn't?

It's going to be difficult to find. I think there are only 120 20 with every print signed and 100 only signed on the insert.
