I've had a bunch of records up on discogs, ebay and on japanese auction sites. While the fees on discogs (8%) and Japanese yahoo auctions (7%) were reasonable (the fees for sale only, they don't touch the postage) ebay was still acceptable with the 11% or 12% they had (they do charge the fees on sale + postage though which is a bit grabby). After switching to that fucking Payoneer system (which was a headache, in the registration process they fucking asked me to provide details of my "company's" stockholders!!! What? Fucking idiots) I sold a record yesterday for $180 + $25 postage and after deducting their fees ebay forwarded to the payoneer account ... wait for it... $168
That's $37 fees on a $180 record which is exactly 20.5%
Fuck em

What about this:
Since July 1, new EU laws on import taxes have been implemented. Every package from outside the EU is now taxed by Customs. In my country that means a package takes at least a week (up to several weeks) longer to arrive than normal, plus it comes with costs. Even when a record has a $5 value.
Now, Discogs already charges the taxes on checkout for us. This, however, is totally unknown to the postal service/Customs so taxes are charged twice. I don’t buy from Discogs anymore when a seller is not in the EU, but contact those sellers directly now as I’m not paying taxes twice.

Selling stuff on instagram may be the way to go forward. No fees and if it's a heavy hitter people will chew your arm off although there's plenty that will try and lowball you too.

The point is I have a lot of filler. Smaller stuff no one really gives a shit about. So yeah. Instagram is great to sell something better I guess. To make space I'd still need something where I can just list stuff and leave it there. I'll stick to discogs and yahoo.
