Morrissey is a proper tool. I have a good story for another time which involves him and my sister eating all of his food in Chester. And I do have all of his records. I understand the nostalgia etc and largely agree with what you're saying. Except that for me personally lyrics matter a great deal. I didn't grow up on USHC originally. I grew up on a steady anarchist diet of CRASS, Conflict and essays by BAkunin and Kropotkin. And while Conflict made some raging records Crass was mostly impossible to listen to but for the lyrics and killer artwork. I always wondered why HCPunk scene had absolutely zero tolerance for all the nazi bull but were fairly accepting and welcoming for all sorts of religious nutbaggery which could and did in many cases cause as much if not more damage. All that aside I agree that people are free to do what they like, listen to what they like and say whatever they like, other than to call someone with a wrong pronoun or say something like: "women can't have knobs". But other than that you can definitely say whatever you like. Unless you're not gay then you can't play gay roles. Or a midget. Is it a midget? What do they call them nowadays? Dwarves? Little people? Someone please bring me up to date on the midgets. But yeah. Other than that you can definitely say what you like. Unless you live in Russia. Or America.

Considering the above I am now on the fence about buying Cappo's new book. On the one hand he's the nicest person I ever met. So I'm rather curious: is he really that gullible at his fairly advanced age and still 100% stands behind all of that supernatural rubbish he claims to be believing, drinking feet water included or did he just inadvertently forced himself into a corner where he no longer believes any of that rubbish but this is the only way he can make a decent living by playing that stupid little piano and coning idiots to pay him money so they can go and look at some cows in India? I thought the book might offer some insight. Or will it just be a wasted time I could have better spent on reading anything by Feynman, Sagan or Schrodinger?

I admire people who said NO to this haha. You've got to stick to your principles. I went with drawing the line I'm not even talking about any of the Driver/RAC shit. That's to be stayed away from unless you're completely fucking devoid of any working bits of brain. I once had a conversation about this with Guav. Apparently he thought some Driver records were cool. I spotted Strongarm Advent in the Pancho's want list. To this day I will defend this record as one of the best HC records of the 90s. When I first heard it, it literally blew my mind... But then I looked through the lyrics and god (no pun intended) were these guys a bunch of wallies. Same goes for the rest of the religious HC. Who the fuck doesn't like Shelter or 108? But on lotus feet of your nearest svami wasn't a lot of it just fucking stupid? It's 2024 and you have free access to Bill Nye the science guy or Neil the deep voice Tyson. So how the fuck are grown men with grey hair and them little pianos still on about some blue, flute playing, cow hopping babies? Anyway, what I want to know where's the line in the sand as far as stupid in punk is concerned? Driver a definite NO but OLC just about acceptable? Is it OK for a die hard SXE kid to have The Real McKenzies Drink Some More (an awesome tune) sandwiched in the playlist between EXC The Discipline and STRIFE's Force of Change? Because if something that goes against your personal beliefs, like B&H (not the photography shop lol) type shite, is a def no no then where does the buck stop? Genuinely curious.

So I've been looking at the consistently crazy Pancho's pick ups and this thought started to lurk in the back of my mind...

If each pit is worth $100 and it saw 19 pits then it would explain the price

I watched the House of Usher on Netflix. I thought it was pretty OK. I started a few things but pretty much everything is substandard. I might go back to re-watching the classics...

I was digging through some tapes and found their demo with Ratbones on vocals. I got this from a friend who lives in NYC. There was a really cool write up on NEW FAITH in the Mad At The World zine - In spite of what some people might tell ya about the 90's, the very middle of the 1990's was exciting for me when it came to NYHC (NJ was, by and large, a different story, at least for another year or so). A lot of the bands that came up in the Bond Street Cafe days seemed to be getting it together more, Striving For Togetherness Records started putting out a bunch of 7"s (as far as I'm concerned, NYHC 's perfect format is the 7", and totally apart from the endless debate about vinyl becoming "obsolete", I still think any resurgence of NYHC HAS to include a resurgence of the NYHC 7"--- no fucking joke!), a lot of the older bands seemed actively interested in staying fully functional, and even some of the north jersey hardcore bands were pretty good (I'm thinking here of early One 4 One and the like). Unfortunately, I guess I typically root for the underdog and the bands I was most partial to weren't the ones that made it to the top of the hardcore scene...). But at that time if you would have asked me who I thought the two best, new NYHC bands were, I would have told you the Down Low and New Faith. Both had the fast, heavy NYHC sound that took a lot of cues from the past, kept it raw and short. They had a bit of a metal crunch (which is typical of NYHC), but live, by and large they kept the metal to a minimum. The bands were related, but faced different fates. The Down Low kept it going on and off for a number of years (Guillotine did a nice split with the Down Low and Against the Grain, and Tommy Rat reissued their great demo on his Free Spirit Records some years later). New Faith was basically the same band, from what I remember, albeit with Rat Bones replacing Joey Down Low on vocals. Both bands played some slamming sets back to back at that big NYHC "benefit show" early September '95 at Coney Island High the same day as the infamous Beer Olympics riots. New Faith put out a very promising demo, with Rat Bones credited in the liner notes, although the vocal duties were actually shared by Joe V and the bass player, since Rat Bones was locked up on Rykers Island (the prison off the shore of the Bronx for you non-New Yorkers) when they recorded the demo. It got a great review in the pages of In Effect after it was released, but they were virtually unheard from afterwards. It was only a few years later when I interviewed Joe V and Joey Down Low in Tompkin's Square Park (the night before Joey had to go in to serve his own stint at Ryker's for some indiscretion or other) that I got the scoop on what happened with New Faith. That was a trip in itself-- a lot of shit happening in the park that night. I'll try to post it up sometime. Seems that the band had actually been in existence in one form or another since 1988, and after the demo, they continued without Rat Bones and went on to record an LP in 1998 at Joe's own home studio, Bullet Broof Studios. That is, until some untrustworthy buddy took off with the studio's equipment and the New Faith tapes, leaving only some rough mixes behind. R.I.P. Tony Costanza - New Faith + + + I checked on discogs for more info and there wasn't even an entry for this tape, so I made one www.discogs.com/release/27732990-New-Faith-FTW

I have original Abused 7" insert and BB Pay to Cum prank stamped dustsleeve if anybody needs one. Listed it on Discogs but apparently it's against some of their retarded policies to list stuff without actual media present.
Edit: Also found a spare insert for the 1st pressing of OP IVY 7"
Edit: Also found a fold out insert for FLEX YOUR HEAD. The really big one, matt paper. I think it was the same as in the wheat cover? Maybe.
Edit: Also have a spare Chain WHUA Foundation 7" insert. The big offset printed one.

The exposé. You might know this man as an accomplished musician, currently posing as a businessman: However, sometime in November @photosobscura posted this photo and by doing it, perhaps inadvertently, blew the cover of this beast. He's, or rather it's likely immortal and dangerous. VOTE NOW and let's get to the bottom of this together. Oh, and just in case there are any doubts, I know for a fact that this is Aram because he told me, incriminating himself in the process.

I've had 3 of them. The one in the middle #21/#44 is sold. I would trade the #9/#40 for a yellow sleeve or sell it whichever comes first. Msg me on INST: @ravenxarmy I might miss DMs on here.

I was looking through some stuff and found a JUDGE BID poster I forgot I had. Anybody wants one holler at me. It was folded by REV originally but I kept it rolled so the folds nearly ironed themselves out.
