I'm not really a fan of test pressings, but I was wondering...between all of the members of this board is there a complete set of Revelation tests? # 1 to 22/23 at least.
Funny story....
While on tour in the UK with Quicksand in February 1991, Walter Schreifels once offered me any record in his collection for a long sleeve t-shirt that he saw in a record store which he just had to have, he had no cash so asked if I would buy it for him. I agreed, and as a thank you he said I could have anything I wanted if he had it, with the exception of the Teen Idles EP as it was the first straight edge record and it was important to him. I knew he had the Necros IQ32 EP as he had offered it in a trade previously and it was a top want of mine at the time, he agreed to the trade right away and I was more than happy as you could imagine. A few days later we were driving to another Quicksand show and he mentioned that he was having second thoughts about the trade, it was a £15 tee after all and the Necros was probably worth three times back then, so I asked him what he had in mind and he said - what about a test press of NYC Hardcore - The Way It Is compilation LP or Gorilla Biscuits Start Today LP? I declined based on the fact that I wasn't into tests, and he gave me the Necros record when he came back on the 2nd GB's tour.
Years later I was talking to him at one of the GB reunion shows and I reminded him of the crazy trade he did with me and he was shocked. He had forgotten that he gave me the Necros record and had thought for years that someone must have been to his house and stolen it from his collection, he was relieved to know that wasn't the case. So I also reminded him that he had offered me some tests in place of the Necros and as a joke I said he could have the Necros back for a Start Today test and to my amazement he agreed! I then laughed it off and said, no - it's okay I'll just keep the Necros record thanks.
No regrets!

I had the Rev site open next to it as an index. But I'm not a die hard Rev-ver so that might explain it. @ lecky: awesome story!!! I've never heard the Necros 7", but I see that it's worth quite a bit. I believe the Start Today pressing is much more rare though, and worth at least 10x more. And the fact that you got TWO chances to own it, but chose not to, amazes me even more!! Some GB band members don't even have one, btw. Has anyone ever heard of or seen a Slipknot test press? |

so it didnt came with a special sleeve? i thought that all tests had a special sleeve. nope, it didnt come with a special sleeve. not many of rev test come with sleeves. i was shocked that it even came with a normal stock sleeve. back then test werent treated like they are these days. they were special, but just not that special. thats why i make my own test press sleeves. |

But i adore all of your test past/present. i wish i would have one test from rev. rev tests use to be a lot easier to obtain. now its become really difficult. even the non-desirable ones are tough to come by. im sure if you keep an eye out you will come by one. |

I've given up trying to get rev tests (apart from the GB ones). i can't justify paying the over the top prices.
