I also agree with you that some music should be available for everyone. But not repressing 4 colors of the Chain album within 2 years. Like I said, I completely get that point and from a collector's point of view it must be annoying as hell, especially if you collect a label and not only a band. However, even if Rev decided to repress a record only on black vinyl and with one cover, there are enough people on this board who'd find some sort of difference, like a different stock of paper used for cover or lyric sheet, the colours on the cover/lyric sheet being a little bit lighter or darker, a change of address, or a lyric sheet with a slightly different layout. You get my drift. This is nothing bad in my book, I guess it's what collectors do. But blaming it on the record label feels a little bit like pointing the finger towards someone else for your own problems. You can get most tunes that REV put out very easy and not that expensive. Maybe in a different format but who cares. Actually, I think that if a record originally came out as a 7", it should be reissued as a 7". If it was released as LP, leave it that way, too. I'm also not a big fan of re-mastering. Keep it as close to the original as possible. But that's just me.

Am I the only one that hopes they never repress the early 7"s? I mean I really don't think they would to the together comp since it has Warzone on it and they said they would never repress the Warzone 7". I also don't think they would do chain, judge, bold or side by side, since they have done the discogs for these. Rev have already done RSD presses for the rest of the 7"s for Rev1-22 except GB and NFAA. (Though they did GB for the rev25). But really am I the only one that wishes they would just stop repressing the original 1-22 records? I mean yes I will still buy them, but I feel it makes the original presses less special. But maybe that's just me. I agree. But like i said, i'm too weak and i will buy them anyway. ;-) I guess it'll be rather me who is in the minority here. I think it's totally awesome that they keep repressing these records. I don't know why Rev say they never want to repress Warzone records, but in my opinion that's complete bs. If a record is out of print, repress it and keep it available to the masses. That's what a record label should do. Dischord are doing a great job in that respect. If someone wants to collect a band or a label or wants only originals, then it's a decision that person makes consciously. But everyone should be able to afford the records by the bands they like if they don't care about age, pressing, colour or things like that, without having to pay an arm and a leg for it. Don't get me wrong, I love record collecting and I can totally get why (Rev) collectors are opposed to endless represses, but there are more important things than keeping records 'special' and serve the 'needs' of collectors imho. On topic: Record Store Day was a great idea that has turned into a big joke these last years.

No need for a heart attack, people, haha. It's not a real GB record. I bought this a few years back from someone who claimed he was working for Rev. Don't know if this was actually true. Anyway, this must have been some time after the reunion shows 2006. Said person told me that they had been bored at work and decided to do something fun, so they screened the At The Matinee 7" cover on some random LPs. The record isn't even playable. It's nice to look at, but that's it.

Haha, thanks. Yeah, I agree that it's never too late to add a record - especially a classic like this - to one's collection.

Not the most spectacular by this board's standards, but I'm really happy that I finally own a copy. Looks pretty mint, too.

Not even a pre-order, not even vinyl but still essential. I just got word that Ikea is discontinuing the Expedit line. In Germany from April and I am pretty sure it is the same in Europe and maybe North America too. There will be an alternative but they might not be suited or sturdy enough to hold records. I am seriously considering buying 1 or 2 and keeping them boxed in my garage for the future. This has caused quite some reactions all over the internet, lol. Mostly from record collectors obviously. According to IKEA the new product line will hold LPs though. I'm also pretty sure that you will be able to buy 2nd hand Expedit shelves for a couple of years. There must be literally millions of them in Germany and the Netherlands alone.

Thanks for the Per Koro tip! 1x CIV - set your goals (2013/REVELATION) LPcol at 12.50 EUR = 12.50 EUR 1x JUDGE - what it meant: the complete discography (2013/REVELATION) DoLPcol at 15.00 EUR = 15.00 EUR 1x v/a NEW YORK CITY HARDCORE: THE WAY IT IS - (1988/REVELATION) LPcol at 12.50 EUR = 12.50 EUR ______________ Subtotal: 40.00 EUR and I think shipping will be €8.50. You're welcome. Don't worry if it takes a little longer for him to get back to you. Markus is a good dude, but he runs his shop, the mailorder and his label all by himself. He always writes a personal mail before sending the records. You can also order records from him that are not listed in the online shop by the way. He'll try to get them for you somehow.

read the intro in the zine. No. Oh, alright. Thanks for the hint, man. It's just that I like to be able to hold zines in my hands. Same as with records I guess. That's why I'm a little bummed out especially since Start Today has always been a great zine. I can totally understand the reasons mentioned in the intro though. Anyway, thanks for still doing the zine startxtoday. It's awesome that people still do zines in 2013.

It's always good to keep the other person up-to-date, too.

the thing is that that burger cost around 300'000. i'm not veg/vegan but would a veg/vegan eat a burger like that? and if we can make "fake" meat without the use of real meat, what would happen too all the animals? i guess if theres no use for having their meat would they bee doomed to exticnt? and how can you tell then the diffrence between real animal meat and "fake" produced meat. don't get me wrong. i don't support big slaughterhouses. me as a meat eater want to know where my meat comes from. thats why i just buy from local budgers. and i know that they don't waste lots from the animals the have there. Of course this kind of 'meat' is still expensive because scientists are still doing research, which usually costs a lot of money. Once they're beyond that stage and synthetic meat is produced on an industrial scale, prices will automatically drop most likely. As for the fate of the animals. Most of the cattle/pigs/chickens/... that are used for meat or dairy are bred and exist only because they serve this very purpose. So what would happen is that people would simply stop breeding those animals on an industrial scale. I don't think they'd become extinct though, simply because people in rural areas and poorer countries will continue to have those animals around for their personal use and consumption. I also figure there are many people around who will still prefer real meat over stem cell meat because the latter is not produced in a 'natural' way. On that note, I'm pretty sure that if this fake meat is ever sold in supermarktes, it will have to say so on the packaging that it is not real meat. But still, even if animals became extinct, that'd still be better than being part of the food chain the way it is today imho. As Poison X Girls has pointed out it could be a good way to reduce animal suffering. I also think that stem cell meat can be an effective means of dealing with the growing world population and its hunger (for meat). I'm vegan but I'm not sure if I'd eat that to be honest. I'm always a little skeptical when it comes to this kind of sci-fi food. Plus I don't even know if I could deal with the consistency of 'real' meat anymore. But I guess I'd try it at least once.

I did link a pic of one on my blog. I don't think anyone actually knows any detail on the pressing, but this is definitely part of the repress that was done in the last year or two. I know of three people who got one, and there's also some dude on livewire who got two. They all got them from Rev. One dude ordered two copies from Rev and got one clear green and one of these solid, dirty green ones. I got mine from a German mail-order, but I know that the guy running it gets many of his records via Rev wholesale. So I can only speculate that the copies on this color were just mixed in with the clear green copies randomly. I would say that these are definitely rarer just because they pop up less, but I would very much doubt it is a separate pressing. I would guess all part of the same pressing, but for some unknown reason some just came out this color. Yeah, that's what I figured, but usually someone on this board knows a little more when it comes to detailed information on records. I still need/want one on the off chance that anyone on here has one & wants to let it go. Well, I'm not that attached to this particular record...

Well, the only other person I've ever heard talking about this version was Marcus Andrews on his blog. He's linked a picture of another record of this colour. Other than that I've never seen one of these around. I thought maybe someone here could shine some light on this record.

I know it's a non Rev question, but i figured this might be a good place to get some information on this record: It's from the last run of represses. The colour is not as green in reality as it seems in the picture, it's more a greyish-green. Anyone know anything about the pressing info? The clear green one is much more common I guess. Thanks for any input.
