revhq.com/store.revhq?Page=search&Id=REVMYS01This Revelation Records Mystery Box is limited to 500 and features a new, exclusive Revelation Records 7" available only through this bundle. We'll also throw in a minimum of five CDs. What else can you expect to find? Some boxes will include a treat or two. It could be a shirt, rare colored vinyl or even a test pressing. For a mere $15 (plus shipping) we guarantee at least $50 worth of some awesomely random merchandise. Please include your preferred size(s) in the comments section of your order just in case your Mystery Box includes a shirt (Youth M, Youth L, S, M, L, XL or XXL). Ordered one, hopefully I don't end up with a box of garbage.

Would be nice if they would give us a hint, since I couldn't be bothered about a new Down To Nothing 7" and 5 eighteen visions cd's especially if I need to pay 40 bucks for it.

like geoff, love stuff like this. in a restaurant I love the (veggie) surprise dish that cooks comes up with (eventhough this may also mean, whatever we have plenty of, we through that on your plate, no bitching about that)
I ordered a box and hope for something cool...

I agree with you on the first part, but I am not a picky eater, if it is veggie and save to eat, I will eat it. When it comes to hardcore I am much more picky. This is more like going to a restaurant and ask for the surprise dish and hope it is veggie, despite 90% of the normal dishes contains meat. Still I find it awesome that labels do these things, especially if you see people getting crazy cool stuff. But without having a clue on what you might get I feel reluctant to spend 40+ dollars on this. My cd-player died on me a few weeks ago and I don't really feel like getting a new one, since it will be just sitting there collecting dust amyway, so the five cd's thing is not a deal changer to me. So on the end of the line, I doubt it would be worth it for me, but maybe I will punching myself in the face later on about this. Who knows.

the last time i ordered directly from rev was in 97? i guess. maybe i'm the only one who buys the records over ebay or discogs. i buy all those later rev releases and newer colors form old releases, rsd... mostly over ebay or discogs. this saves me lots of postage. got a shitload from hammer last year with almost everything and could save the shippingcosts. the other thing is that i have so many other records on my wantlist that i don't want to bother that much buying a 5th diffrent color variation of the yot lp that looks exactly the same as the ww release from 86. (very lame idea to take the old layout for a "new release") not saying anything against rev. i think its cool to get young kids into collecting records with diffrent and over all affordable records. but its just not my cup of tea. then that mystery box thing.... its like some of you said before. you don't get what you want and what you get you don't want. maybe 2% might get a test of the new dtn (1 test out of 80?) then some cds from releases that you probably have already several times and then a shirt that you won't care about. as tempting as it might sound, but i won't buy one either. i rather check what you guys try to sell off later and get me a sweet package deal with some yot on blue that you guys got by mistake

One of the last CDs I remember buying was the Straight Edge As Fuck vol. 2 comp from Desperate Fight Records when it came out. That was the last CD I was really excited about. I think I must have picked up a few after that but nothing worth remembering I guess. This is the first time in 10+ years that I consciously paid for CDs. And 5 of them. I guess it will all end up on ebay at .99 cents starting bid which will make me the $5 back (if anyone even buys them Whirlpool CDs at all) on a package that cost me $60-something minus the YOT LP lol
I really hope there's something truly amazing in that package though... Like a Polaroid photo of the Dischord naked guy or the socks Porcelly's wearing on the back of the CCME 7" cover.

Just gone to order the mystery box. $15 for the mystery box then $4 + $21 for first class postage. So $40 for potentially $50 worth of stuff I don't really want.
Im not much of a gambling man but I will still order it and see what happens. You got to be in it to potentially get something great.
Knowing my luck with dealing with people and records at the moment I will probably end up getting a Vanguard fanzine and the person packing the box will cough in it and I will get some amazing virus when I open it.

Recently my postage almost ALWAYS equals the amount I spent in the REV store. I think if you order just one LP it would actually be a lot more than double. I should employ the same tactics when selling on ebay. Postage equals the final bid. Plus $4.

Anyone else resisting the urge to order two of these? There are 3 possible outcomes of those mystery packages: a) You get something really really cool, like REV002 on clear or red vinyl (I somehow think these colours would go lovely with that release) with og inserts made into a cool booklet with extra photos, liner notes or something - then you will probably regret not ordering two of those b) You get something you would order anyway but wouldn't need more than one, like yet another pressing of Burn or Quicksand or Inside Out 7" on whatever another colour c) You will get something that someone at REV thought would be a great idea to do but once done they realised no one in a million years would buy it they came up with a clever idea of a mystery box, throwing a bunch of CDs in so they could later say: Well, we added a bunch of extras so don't complain you got that JUD JUD discography or whatever other shit record cuz you got your moneys worth and more. Kind of like the B9 refuted complaints about the Have Heart's 7" ruler. "Well, we added a bunch of CDs and shirt for free..." Considering that lately the creativity of REV is going pretty much downhill with all those represses that I just buy for buying sake but I'm far from being super excited about (I mean who really needs the BDTW on green with WW cover rip off? How many of you were really super thrilled to get it? Like with goosebumps and all?) I'd say it's gonna be something around b) bordelining with c) so no, I don't feel no urge to order another one I do secretly hope I am wrong though.

I'm definitely not buying one, after spending $100 on a "VIP" ticket at the Rev25 Cali show and getting some CDs that went in the bin, stickers, a poster and a bag. No way I'm falling for that again.
