All the dashes on my list have been replaced by some weird question marks, which makes everything look so ugly.

Thought I'd leave this here. Henry Rollins talking about his record collection. I found it quite enjoyable. Skip the first 13 minutes, which is just the host with general talk about the podcast. The Vinyl Guide - Episode 100 with Henry Rollins

What would be a good place to sell merch? Thinning out my closet and I don't think I will ever wear those 80's/90's XL shirts. Any Facebook groups to recommend? Preferabel EU centered? Or web forums? HC-Marketplace on Facebook.

It must be worse living in the states with the long distances. I think I'm going to pack up the records seportaly and just drive it myself rather than using the removale company. Going to be an interesting drive! I've never let someone else carry any boxes with records. If I don't trust friends/family with my records, why would I let some stranger working for a moving company carry them? Also, don't make the boxes too heavy. Better for the boxes and your back will thank you later, too. Use clothing, towels, cushions etc. as extra padding.

That you used to listen to A LOT and then totally stopped and forgot about? I've just realised I've got one of those: The Toy Dolls. There was a moment somewhere there, probably between 6 and 10 years old that I'd say they were one of my favourite groups. I continued to listen to A LOT of Toy Dolls all the way through high school until about 17(?) and then, for reasons unknown just stopped. I've not heard a single Toy Dolls song in some 20+ years and just now for whatever reason Barry The Roofer came up on the youtube suggestions sidebar. Made me feel young for 2 minutes... I've just re-listened few records. It's cheesy but for nostalgia reasons it still holds up, for me at least Haha, funny thing you mentioned The Toy Dolls. Same thing happened to me last Monday. Hasn't been 20 years for me, but it's been a long time that I put on any of their records. The lyrics are whatever, but Olga's guitar work is still outstanding.

if people call a limited Conne Island record ridiculous, I ask myself what this is. 350$ for a VIP ticket for a HC show of an "underground" label.
My thoughts exactly. $250 more for the VIP treatment than compared to the $100 for regular tickets. There had better be one hell of vegan buffet every night and some really cool records for that kind of money. Do you at least get a shirt and poster on each of the four days to get your money's worth?

I don't have as many valuable records as most people on here but nevertheless my wife and I have talked about that scenario. Luckily she knows a thing or two about records and wouldn't sell anything for cheap. She also knows which people to contact to help her in case anything happened to me. Also, this sounds kind of intriguing for what to do with your remains.

I don't know if this has been discussed here before. The center hole of the tour press of my copy of Disconnecting is slightly bigger than the regular size, which makes the record basically unplayable since it doesn't rotate properly. I've never seen this before with any other record I've owned or held in my hands. Is it just my copy or is the entire pressing screwed up? Tour press on top of a 1st press copy for comparison:

The reason people miss out on a record is that another person decided to buy several copies of said record just to flip them for a large amount of money and the people who missed out on the record initially should then be happy about having to pay 10, 15, 20 times of what the original price was? How is that a desirable scenario? I'll gladly give my money to a band and label because they put in all the hard work. Why would I want to throw money at some random person just because they were quicker clicking on 'buy'? Of course, if you pay that amount of money, that's your decision. Supply and demand, yaddayadda, but inflating prices like that - especially on a board where people usually look out for and help each other - feels very wrong to me. In fact he put the record from €250 on discogs, not here, and he said the value of that record doesn't matches for many records in his list. Did you contacted him for a better deal here? I'm just saying that once the record is gone, is gone and as I said my $100 offer for the soia 7" was considered a low ball offer right here. And 2500% is uncool and 600/700% is cool? But it's just my opinion don't want to start a rumble, I'm a quiet person!😊 No, I haven't contacted him. Why would I? Maybe I already bought a copy, maybe I'm not even interested in this record, or maybe I don't want to give the seller my money at all. Maybe it's just the principal that's at stake for me.

I'm really sorry that you haven't made the experience of people helping you out so far. But if you're unhappy about this situation, then maybe it's you who should change something about that. Most things in life are a two-way street. Just saying. I personally couldn't help you out on this issue because I never pick up two copies of a new rare record. If I want a copy, I'll get one for myself and that's it. The only exception I'll make is when someone asks me to help them out. I have done so in the past and will do so in the future. And I know about others on this board and beyond this board who have acted the same way. You're right of course, you're entitled to your opinion. Just like I am to mine.

I'm disagree for 2 reason : first I don't understand the difference between a new and a old record, since I love every single version of a record in the same way. The soia conne 7" is a perfect example because is a "new" record but I haven't seen it pop up often, I offered $100 here but it was considered a low ball offer... Second, if you sell it for $1000 and then you find a buyer and both are happy what's the problem? Collecting is now a business, last together first press on ebay was sold for $320...so if you want this record you must have $320. Someone has instead a record for sale or trade to get $320,again what's the problem? If you don't want to pay 250 for that record, just don't buy it, it's that simple. Core tex is the guilty The reason people miss out on a record is that another person decided to buy several copies of said record just to flip them for a large amount of money and the people who missed out on the record initially should then be happy about having to pay 10, 15, 20 times of what the original price was? This is the reason why it was made...hmpf. A nice way to make a quick 238 bucks. I really hope no one takes up that offer, because it would set a really bad example.
