super surprised about Hot water Music. loved them back in the days, but didn't listend to them ever since. gotta spin it right now. Hot Water Music are one of my all time favorites. Although some of their later stuff is hit or miss, they still rule. I remember when Fuel for the Hate Game came out - it was a watershed moment. We were awestruck we when heard it. I just cranked it right now as i was working in the garden. Plus, Chuck Ragan is the nicest person in hardcore. A fine human being with always a kind word, to old friends and the umpteenth person trying to shake his when he's at the urinal alike. i have seen them quit often in the late 90s. they played a lot in europe and i probably went to most shows. i also had the chance to meet chuck, and it was nice talking to him for a few minutes. i love that fuel of the hate game album. i don't know their newer stuff but have seen them maybe 2-3 years a go and they still had their energy.

A lot of dislike of my pressing the Have Heart record in this thread. Oh well. But my answer is Misfits. I don't have the exact numbers, but I have about 30 copies of Earth AD alone.

I get it. Supply and demand. I enjoy the transition pressings that you hand number and sell from time to time. Those are fun.

A lot of dislike of my pressing the Have Heart record in this thread. Oh well. Dislike is not the word I'd use. Excessive or overwhelming would better describe what I think of a practice of pressing 70 different versions in 7 separate pressings. I must say though that I tried buying different versions of the demo 7", probably up to press 4 or so, but the sheer amount of it did put me off wanting to collect this release resulting in me keeping only the 1st press on pink and getting rid of everything else.

A lot of dislike of my pressing the Have Heart record in this thread. Oh well. Like Poison X Girls and lordxhumungus said, NO dislike here. Conversely i really love to collect those HH demos. And thanks for your help, it's been possible so far.

What would this thread a lot better is actual pictures of those records. Let me see if I have some spare time this Saturday.

I haven't counted yet but I guess around 50 Quicksand records and another 40 from other Walter singing bands (Walking Concert, Rival Schools, Moondog, Walter Schreifels solo, etc). Quicksand 43 and 61 other bands Walter was in.

I just got around to checking my spreadsheet. In total I have 4040 records in my spreadsheet. Here are my top 6:
1. Integrity 122 (unlike snakexeyes I carried on past 'Humanity') 2. Bane 74 3. Cave In 50 4. Black Flag 35 5. Down To Nothing 33 6. Youth Of Today 31
That's 345 records across only 6 artists. Kinda silly. Also kinda disappointing that I only have 6 artists with over 30 records.

I tried collecting HH for a long time. From 2008-2011, Pat would give me 1 of everything (including tests) so that we would have almost a joint HH collection. 1 of every variant of every release. But, after the 5th pressing of the Demo, it got too hard to keep up. I ended up selling a big chunk of it except for some real cool ones. I still have all my HH tests, I'll be keeping those for a long time.

Just for kicks I went over my "spreadsheet" (aka spiral notebook) and started counting Converge records. I got to 40+ and my eyes are tired. I'm going to bed.

The best thing about reading this thread again was seeing all of the names of the people posting. I guess this board used to be quite good fun and lots of people chipped in with comments. Ah, the good old days!
Also, for my own amusement (and for the other 3 people who still read this board), I thought I would update my numbers as things have moved a bit in the last 8 years.
1. Integrity: 309 (was 122) 2. Bane: 93 (was 74) 3. Youth Of Today 61 (was 31) 4. Down To Nothing: 56 (was 33) 5. Cave In: 72 (was 50) 6. Rot In Hell: 55 (was less than 30) 7. Gameface: 53 (was less than 30) 8. Give: 45 (was less than 30) 9. Black Flag: 41 (was 35)
Will be interesting to see how things will have changed when we get to 2030.

I started this thread 8 years ago? Time flies… Here’s my top 5 as of 2022:
Bane: 93 (67) —> I think the last LP accounts for about 20 of the added 26 records, haha.
Good Clean Fun: 58 (51) —> Not many more variants out there…
Spirits: 49 (0) — A collector‘s dream/nightmare.
Sick Of It All: 43 (41) —> I sold a bunch of variants of the more recent LPs, but apparently I picked up more than I remember.
Modern Life Is War: 43 (?) —> I only started collecting MLIW again after this post, so I probably only had one or two copies of each release back then. Still looking for the last show box set.
