I watched that Wasted video again the other day and totally geeked out. I just love looking at those records (like the Warzone Lion sleeve) and hearing his stories.
What happened to that guy? Does he post on here (or other boards) and still trade/buy/sell? I guess he probably has everything now but I haven't heard of him being around - or maybe he is and I just don't know it. Does he still maintain the Rev pressing info page or do others at Rev update that with new pressings, etc?
Also - I assume there is much more that was filmed than that 15 minute video - are there outtakes or more videos from that interview?

There's an 'outtake' on his Chain Of Strength - What Holds Us Apart collection online.

The most interesting part was in the intro to the video:

theres no doubt he has the best rev collection out there. but he was in the right place and the right time, he doesnt deny that. he got into the rev collecting kind of late too. i would email him every now and then, and all i got back attitude. wasnt impressed with him, but i guess he must of gotten a million emails like mine which could get annoying. heres an old pic of a couple of his records.

I was just gonna ask the same question. Clutch, who are they? And why did he took that picture where the clear one rolled to the left?

I actually like early Clutch. And in particular I would love to have both of those clear and gold records. BUT... wow why the heck is that record on display with those Rev records??? A very odd grouping indeed.
And yes... that off center clear is not cool.

Clutch IIRC were from MD/VA area... very Helmet-ish right around the same time Helmet was hitting in the early-mid 90's. They weren't HC kids but had played HC/Metal shows.. and I think Kev Finn was from that area.

I think it's funny how he talks about the inverse effect creating the database ending up having. The minute people knew how many copies of records existed the market exploded.
Makes sense. And these records should be sold/bought for what they are worth.
But.... remember back when you could spend $100 and get whatever record you wanted. Ha. I used to live on those Rev Trade Boards back in the late 90's.

That's my old off white GB, bought it for $60 and traded it to Kev for fresh WZ on clear from the vault. I wish record collecting was still like that.
Fun fact. That's the same off white from the "peeled banana" photo in my sig that's been floating around for some years now.

Yeah it's the one. I had the whitest one (not ever obviously, I think that honor goes to Kyle) and I was like the 3rd or 4th person he traded with to get it. He mentioned sending back "off-white" trades in the past that didn't meet up to his expectations. Also, you can see the yellow spot at 7:30 that I have in my sig and all the pics I have of the record. I this have an off-white but it's not as white as that one.

I'd say it's somewhere in between the most white and the next in line in that pic. The on I have now is like the lesser white copies in that pic.

Kevin once told me that rev keeps one of each pressing aside for him that he once in a period of time gathers while he visits there. But is he still getting the tests? Where did his collection stop I wonder.

Kevin grew up here in VB. Super nice dude. Last time I saw him had to be 1998 or so when he came into my restaurant while visiting. Both him and his brother were into HC and went to shows. Me and his older brother took a 15 year old Kurt Powers to DC to see Integrity / Lifetime / Chanel etc etc and the car died. Leaving us stranded with Kurt for 3 days! Such a great time.
I am 100% sure that all the emails he must have gotten were super annoying. Just imagine if that was you!
But most importantly... EVERYONE here in VB loved Clutch. When that 1st Pitchfork record came out Clutch would play Kingshead and everyone would go fucking nuts. During that early era, Clutch were the heaviest band out.

In the video where Kevin is going through his collection, you can see a really dark clear orange 7" (the together comp or war zone 7"). It looks like it is a black mix. You can see it next to the bold on pink after he talks about the Start Today LP.
Anyone know what this is?

Anyone know what this is? that is one of the two dark orange copies listed on the .txt file. the second one is with rev. troy has one that has some serious black mixed in it too, but not as dark as finns. 1st press : 600 black vinyl 400 orange vinyl This is the "gold" vinyl press that everyone confuses with the yellow press. A number of the orange vinyl copies come with either a batman or a superman stamp on the inner dust jacket. Two copies of orange black mix are known to exist.
