Did anyone listen to this, it really hit me how brutally honest some of the discussions where between the former band members. Definitely on of the best things I listened to in a while.

Just finished the Quicksand episode. But I'm really looking forward to if after everything I've heard so far.

TBH i listend till the side by side episode and i just couldn't listen to all that talk from these guys anymore. it annoyed me that they put collectors down and criticized that no one needs more than 2 versions of one record. to me this is somehow essential knowledge to run a podcast in that format, since they use all the sepcs from the records but nothing about the pressing infos? also mentioning all that patreon thing and sponsoring get very quickly annoying. maybe i am old school, but imo people done zines, and interviews back then for fun and as a hobby, not for profit, so why make a podcast and try to get money for it? sorry, thats the uncoolest thing to do in a diy scene. but i know that i might be the only one with that opinion. its, cool to hear some of the members get interviewed, thats for sure the cool thing about it. i just wonder what these old farts can talk about that they didn't talk yet in the last 25plus years?

Well, it’s true though. Nobody needs more than 2 copies of a record. Actually, nobody needs more than 1 copy of a record if you just want to listen to the music and read the lyrics. So the point they made is valid imho. Not everybody is a (Rev) collector. That doesn‘t mean people don‘t want more copies or aren‘t allowed to have more than one or two copies. The hosts of the podcast acknowledged from the start that they aren’t Rev collectors in the sense of this message board and that they don’t even own all Rev releases on vinyl, so why should they or how could they even talk about pressing info and collecting? I’d guess that the majority of listeners is more interested in the history and stories revolving around the records than in actual pressing info anyway. But if you want to turn that round table discussion you recently participated in into a podcast, I for one would listen to that as well Sure, people usually do zines as a hobby, but they still sold them because they wanted to make back the money they invested. Zines weren’t free in the 80s or 90s, were they? Doing a podcast costs money as well, so why shouldn‘t they ask for money? And you can still listen to most of the content for free whereas for zines you always had to pay. So that analogy doesn‘t really work. Besides collecting records is definitely less punk or in the spirit of DIY than charging money for a product you made. Not everybody has been around for 25+ years, so it’s cool for younger listeners to learn something about the history of all these records and the people behind them. I think the band dynamics the different people talked about in the interviews were pretty interesting, which is something you can’t get from a written interview, and personally I Iearned plenty of things about all of those records and the people involved. On the actual episode: One of my favourite episodes so far. As Nico said the members were really honest with each other and there was so much background information. Loved it. Currently listening to the second episode about the Inside Out 7”.
