I like the gimmick factor of this one.
Same goes for the laser turntable.

I like the gimmick factor of this one. Same goes for the laser turntable. This looks very very cool.. But 2.5K EUR is a bit of a show stopper I think after some 2-3 years of noone buying this I should be able to pick one up for under a grand.

I considered it, but waiting 2.5 years sounded a bit annoying and you got zero security it would even happen. Sound quality isn't better than your average 700 dollars record player apparently.

I've been thinking about upgrading the record player since I got a $600 cartridge I got off a guy who designed it. It seems a waste putting it into a low end DENON I have now so I was thinking about buying the Planar 3. Never got round to it yet though. And now that Planar 6 is out with the TT-PSU included in the package I'm seriously thinking of going for the P6.

I currently own and use a Technics SL-QL15.
That is some high tech shit back in 1983. It reads the changing of the songs, so you can program it like a CD player.

Save some space, buy this! Pretty cool concept. The hover platter looks a lot better though. Was that Glen Miller? I had a few of those records knocking about when I was in primary school.

I watched this yesterday:
Was not aware of ANY of the formats listed in the video. If you can look past the fact that the narrator lad sounds a bit like a door-to-door Jesus Saves type of guy it's quite interesting in terms of what's out there.
I'm now actively looking for a proper old school crank powered phonograph.
Few years ago I bought some 1930-1940s shellac 78s from the Mafia II soundtrack. I'm hoping to play them this year.
Not necessarily into them massive brass horns. Built in horn would do. Something like the guy here is selling:
