Does anyone else, label the outer plastic sleeves, to easily identify different pressings? If so, what do you use to make the labels? What information, do you include on the label?
I noticed a few people on instagram already having a system in place for this. Curious what the benefits and costs are.

I print stickers off an inkjet. All you need is an a4 page with address labels sticker sheets, word or whatever template, which takes no time to set up, some time and patience.
I stick that stuff on the resealable flap of the outer bag as I like to have it on the back of the record but it can go on just about anywhere.
Cost is minimal. It requires time, patience, iron will and dedication though. Especially if your collection is in thousands.

I use small stickers and just hand write (I love my own handwriting ) with bandname, cat#, which press, what year, what color and pressing number). I have been using this system for about 30 years now. It works like a charm and I am happy about.

For me, I only use labels to save time - if I have multiple copies of a record, I don't want to potentially waste time taking records out of their sleeves in order to find one particular copy. So I don't want labels that have lots of writing on them. It's unnecessary. All I need is a small round dot to denote the vinyl colour on the poly sleeves for LPs. I think I paid something like £7 for a pack of colour dot stickers (postpaid). For 7"s I don't use labels at all. I keep the 7" records in the poly sleeves but behind the record sleeve. So if i want to know which 7" is which, I simply flip them round so I can see the record. So I have no need for labels on 7"s.

I use small white stickers, too. Usually I put the colour and the pressing info on them. Sometimes I note the record label as well (example: Gorilla Biscuits LP).

I tried this with a label writer, pretty satisfied thus far.
