As many of you may have noticed, the third party image hosting company Photobucket has abruptly changed their business model and policy. All photo/image links to boards, forums, blogs etc from their site are suddenly "dead". Consequently, the image that disappears from the board/blog etc is replaced by an ugly grey logo/warning sign. Content is lost in many ways. Threads suffer, and will be more difficult to read for newcomers in the future.
PB now wants $399 a year for continuing a service that was free to use. Even people who PAID $30 a year have lost all their past links, ridiculous.
I have some 30-50 pics on Photobucket, which I primarily used to post pics here. Should have posted way more, good intentions...now sort of glad I didn't! Oh, and I left Imageshack about 1-2 years ago due to their policy changes as well.

Please discuss: -how can we clean up the board -alternative 3rd party image hosting sites, which are best? -change your avatar if it's the PB ugly logo asap -anything else that's relevant -blow some steam if you will
For myself: I can still log in and see my photos. I have the originals on my PC so no need to download them from PB. What I did do is take a few pictures of the screen of my account, so I can easily reference which photos I posted on the Rev board. Hopefully I'll have time to repair the damage and add the photos again via another site.

For few bucks a month you can get a basic hosting. 100% control over everything. There might even be free hosting accounts somewhere out there. Or get a free blog at wordpress etc and upload pics there

What sites do people recommend in place of photo bucket?

I used 1% and I need to pay 400 dollars. No thank you. I am moving stuff to my own server and close my photobucket account, since it looks like they won't revert their policy.

It looks like all my Photobucket links still work, but I have no idea why... I did receive their email about linking images being over now. Haven't tried posting new pics yet.

Yeah, I noticed this too these last few weeks! Cool to be able to see most (not all) pictures, but still veeeerry hesitant to go back to that company..
It might explain why the board is "out of space" maybe
Apparently the CEO "John Corpus" (sounds like the name of some singer of some grindcore band)is out of the company. Not surprised.

The board being out of space is nothing to do with external image hosting. It's to do with the proboards limits when attaching files to posts.
We've simply run out of that space.
