So 4th time lucky I should be moving house next week. (Time to upgrade my man cave!) Everything is packed up and ready to rumble. It's at this stage I've just realised how much stuff I have accumulated over the years.
Can anyone give me any tips or advise on moving records, framed posters etc? I'm sure I'm not the first person to have this problem.

Ship it to me and don't worry about it anymore.
Else just take it easy and don't rush it.

For framed stuff order a giant roll of bubble wrap (can get it real cheap on eBay) then just wrap the frames multiple times and tape it up good. Records - get good boxes/crates and as said above just take your time.

It must be worse living in the states with the long distances. I think I'm going to pack up the records seportaly and just drive it myself rather than using the removale company. Going to be an interesting drive!

Going to be an interesting drive! I've never let someone else carry any boxes with records. If I don't trust friends/family with my records, why would I let some stranger working for a moving company carry them? Also, don't make the boxes too heavy. Better for the boxes and your back will thank you later, too. Use clothing, towels, cushions etc. as extra padding.

I've moved many times and always done it myself in my car. It always takes a few trips. But I've been lucky and had the keys to both properties at the same time for the last three moves, so I moved the records over a period of days. If I had to move them all in one day over a long distance I'd probably just rent a van and drive it myself rather than let some bunch of random fuckos touch my records.
I keep my records in cubes and boxes so I can just pick up and move without having to take them off a shelf, transport them and put them back on a shelf. You do stuff like this when you're used to moving every couple of years on average.

To add extra complications all of our house contents is going to unto storage for the week as we can't move straight into the new house.
If I die I'm sure it will make for a good episode of storage wars!
