Holy shit. That is a lot of money for that ugly painting.
Would be cool if he'd still be in a HC band.
Maybe we should have an art thread on here....."what do you have on your walls?"

What I find fascinating is how do you make more money than Trump (who's not a real billionair while that kid is) selling someone else's music and some clothes?
I wish I had an inkling for business.

As far as art goes:
D'Agata, Bellmer, Saudek, Schiele, Redon (drawings, not paintings), de Tolouse-Lautrec (mostly drawings, pastels and posters, not paintings), some of Mucha and very selectively the entire pop-art lot. Very selectively.

And yes, that painting the jp kid bought is uber shite. In my unprofessional and subjective opinion.

From the Rev newsletters...
Whether you follow the world of art or not, you may have heard of the Jean-Michel Basquiat painting that recently sold for a whopping $110.5 million, making it the sixth most expensive painting ever to be auctioned. Besides being shocked at the sale price, you may also be surprised by the high bidder's connection to the hardcore scene. The new owner of the painting, Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa, made his fortune as an online fashion mogul. But Maezawa got his start in the hardcore scene, running a hardcore/punk distribution in Japan's called Start Today, a name conspicuously taken from Gorilla Biscuits' 1988 LP. Maezawa also played in the Japanese hardcore band Switch Style, releasing their first EP in 1993. He's currently in the process of building a museum in his hometown, Chiba, Japan, to share his art collection with the masses. Check out the following article on CNN.com if you'd like to read more: money.cnn.com/2017/05/19/technology/yusaku-maezawa-music-fashion-art-basquiat/index.html
