What are some numbered copies of a release you have you think are special? Do you try to get a certain number of a numbered release if available? Is it more than just meaningless fun to have a certain number or has it made a difference to someone asking about the record? I saw someone posted a pic of #1 of the purple BURN 7". Was that the dude who set up the show? Over the years I also noticed that the first four or five copies of a numbered release are sometimes bandcopies.

Numbers 24, 31, 81 and 108 often end up in my collection. Or the last one 100/100, 150/150 etc.
More often than not low numbers are sold to the general public. But sometimes the first few copies go to the band or label.

Number 4 is My favorite, also 40 is a likely number. Got supertouch live on wnyu 4/10 black. I've asked for it and I bought it along with 1/10. Also got the gold one at the show 40/100 !then I've got the black screen edition 4/50...just lucky!I've a feeling with this record! Nothing else though, I have a lot of random numbers Another cool is chain whua 00099 That's one of my favourite numbered records. Would like to own the bdtw posi number 4/60. Just dreamy

Another cool is chain whua 00099 I have 00098! And my favorite number is 14 but I rarely seem to end up with it. I do, however, end up with 17 quite a bit for some reason...

never paid much attention to the numbers, but I have 2 cool (non Rev) numbered editions: CHAMPION/BETRAYED split 7" test press 1/13 (given to me by Kyle W) GO IT ALONE "the only blood between us" eurotour 2005 press 1/300 - bought this before the Rome show, they had just received their copies, and they were still numbering them....so I was the first to grab one. These 3 bands, along with Dead Stop, Have Heat and The First Step, are probably the best bands from the early 2000 era.... agree?

I don't ask for specific numbers of a release but it's fun to get a number that sort of relates to the release. When the Supertouch Live in '88 record came out, I ordered a bunch and got numbers 84 through 88. 84, 85 and 86 are gone, but I'm holding on to the other two, especially 88. Also have the gold version #87. When the Endpoint - In A Time Of Hate record was reissued by Simba, I got 88 and 90; apparently someone asked for 89 specifically. I also have the Hands Tied Project X sleeve #87. A few years ago someone got an unnumbered copy and joked about numbering it 87. Then there's Touche Amore - TTBOADH /100 of which I have #50. And that weirdo Down To Nothing handscreened sleeve version of The Most, #33/33. When the singer of Sinking Ships sold a bunch of his records a few years ago, I got a hold of some low numbers, mostly 3s including Jim Hesketh's copy of the demo on clear numbered brother/30. It's only a record, but wouldn't you want to hold on to that kind of personalized copy?

CHAMPION/BETRAYED split 7" test press 1/13 (given to me by Kyle W) Given? Have Heat was a straight edge band from Boston area made up of lads who all suffered from a chronic case of fever. They kept bumping into eachother at the local clinic and one day decided to start jamming together. Their demo was good.

Since they never had jackets made for them. I also have a Newport press of the GIA tour press. Weird

They kept bumping into eachother at the local clinic and one day decided to start jamming together. Their demo was good. I remember them... That band had almost no money due to all the health bills, but they wanted to tour the west coast. Can't tour on a demo, so they pressed vinyl of the demo. Makes sense. They pressed 15, and sold them all. Then another 7, 17, and 45 pressing. Each time a different colour. One time, they pressed 3 records for no apparent reason (kind of like Chung King #43). They have like 55 pressings now. They numbered everything and sold 'em like cookies. If you like collecting records numbered as #1, then this band has plenty of them.

Correction: They didn't actually press it. It was their doctor. He did that.

You mean for the 2006 tour, with Allegiance (while the first tour in 2005 was with Blue Monday)? The copies with the show date written on the label ? I don't think anybody actually knows, all the ones I've seen have UK dates, so I assume they probably sold them all in the first leg of the tour. I know for sure that when they played Italy they didn't have any copies left.

I never paid much attention on that because if records had such a limitiation that they are numbered, i am happy to get one - not matter which number it has.
But I have the Turning Point 7" as #0041 and that´s cool because most "scene people" called our area "district 41".
