Just curious. I apologize, in advance, for the awkward topic.
My wife was concerned about how to handle all my records if I pass. My immediate family members are not hardcore listeners. She wouldn't know what to do with all the records. Nor does she know how to sell them.
I'm thinking of using Discogs to catalog my collection to help her.
Most of you have a small fortune in records. What's your plan?

I don't know about others but I imagine Marcus will want to be entombed in some sort of pyramid with all of his records filling the chambers built around the burial chamber which would be in the centre of the pyramid. I'm not sure if he will want them records to be arranged alphabetically, by genre or by label though. Alphabetically would be my guess. What I do know is that upon death, his body will be prepared by replacing the internal organs with pure crushed myrrh, cassia and other herbs and oils. Heart will be removed and replaced with the First Strike Chain of Strength test pressing #1/1500, which is his favourite record. Then the body will be covered in balm and cedar oil and wrapped into inserts of bands you never heard of that only Marcus and Geoff care about and carefully placed into a sarcophagus made of coke bottle clear wax. Then all of the corridors leading to the burial chamber will be booby trapped to prevent the robbers from blagging the tomb and builders who build the whole thing will be executed. Just in case.

A+ would read again. My girlfriend knows who she needs to contact and he is instructed how to deal with my collection. There will be a treasure hunt for the gems of my colllection. The rest will be sold on Discogs.

hahaha @dobek I actually made a detailed list for my wife last year, with a description and a sale price, otherwise she would sell a Chain silver sleeve for 10$ . At the end, I made a rough calculation that I have records worth 20-25k euro, if not more, it would be a pity not to let my widow and kids cash in from the old fart of me passing

Hahaha...record collectors are smart blokes though, they will find a way in. The Chain test will be renumbered to #4/1500 and a story added that it was found in Stoke-on-Trent.

I'm taking mine with me. You'll be able to see the smoke for miles.

I'll be getting buried in an unmarked grave with my CK.

Seriously, this is an important issue. I have a friend who will be in charge of my records. He will sell everything and the money goes to my kids.

This made me laugh, especially the bit I have highlighted in bold.

I don't have as many valuable records as most people on here but nevertheless my wife and I have talked about that scenario. Luckily she knows a thing or two about records and wouldn't sell anything for cheap. She also knows which people to contact to help her in case anything happened to me. Also, this sounds kind of intriguing for what to do with your remains.

I'll take with me 2 records: wnita on white and ime tdb red. A list is ready and will be updated, but I think my wife know something about the prices... What she doesn't know is how to sell. I think that a friend on the board will help her! I will do the same of course! Right Paolo?
