Just received a sealed Judge LP an hour ago... Open it? Not?
It is a clear gold/252 version, so happy with that.
Interesting story of the pressing plant problems. But when Judge is bringing it down on the stampers, things get tough.

I would guess that they ordered 500 copies (or 550) as that seems to be the standard number pressed these days for a repress. There were 1000 copies on purple which was too many as they have hung around for months. So I would guess that they will top up the yellow and red numbers to 500 each. But who knows?

ok I'll draw a line here - I'll stick to the originals without bothering for the newer presses. In a few days 2 records that potentially were worth 500+ $$ in my collection have become 50$ records, and the madness will continue, no doubt about it. Rev doesn't show respect for its collectors on this one. I wouldn't want Rev 'to show respect for its collectors' if it meant fewer kids could get their hands on BID on vinyl. I want Rev to make an awesome record available to as many as possible on vinyl! what I don't get is - why repressing it again on a new color while the purple press is still available? kids who want it on vinyl could still purchase it. So there wasn't an immediate need of a newer color(s), if not creating a new flow of orders for the newer color. And the discography 2XLP vinyl is still in stock. On a different note, in your opinion why The Storm 7" hasn't been repressed yet ?

It's clearly a business for rev, in fact is a record store! There's a complicated marketing strategy behind that. Anyway... I love 10 different colours on a record, so I'm happy, Rev makes some money, that's the game!

Pressing a record can take more than six months nowadays. They probably put in an order while the purple was flying off the shelves and maybe it slowed down a bit. I doubt the purple will be used as packing material, it will go out of print sometime. Just take a deep breath.

Or maybe they pressed it on a new color to milk the collectors, which I don't see a problem with to be honest. I would do that too. Rev are very much aware of how collectable their records are and in a business that is very hard to make a living in without selling out completely, I think milking their classic releases is a decent move. I don't know why the storm hasn't been repressed yet. I'm sure it will be. I'm also sure the Together 7" comp will be repressed - I hope so!

The repressed the BID as 25th aniversary, but now there are 2 new colors after the black and purple aniversary. I think that is lame and just to milk us collectors.

No its called keeping one of your most popular records in print so you can make money. Its what any smart record label would do. Lame would be keeping a record out of print that you know can sell, just because collectors will get mad if you repressed it. Also at the time I ordered the yellow vinyl originally, there wasnt any purple vinyl in the store. So it could be running really low and they found more.

If it wasn't for the Judge discography i would follow you on this. So now we can expect new pressings of the Speak Out album or Bold 7".

It's time a 180gram vinyl record is released in a pressing of 180 made. Not aware of anyone having done this yet.

I did both Floorpunch reissues and the 108 LP with 180gram versions limited to 100.
Its accidental with this record though i think

"Judge's Bringin' It Down is now available on translucent red vinyl! Don't sweat it if you missed out on the gold version, there will be more of each pressing available sort of soon."
So a new pressing from both yellow/gold and red will be made?

They will get more gold ones in a month - they should be identical to the first 252 gold ones - but who knows.

What he said So far REV made the following "identical" pressings: Burn on yellow Quicksand on blue YOT 7" on red YOT WNITA LP on blue I'm not even counting the scrap vinyl pressings like the CCME for example. I'm sure I'm just scratching the surface with those. Feel free to add more, that was just off the top of my head.

There was also the Civ LP on clear pink recently which was supposed to be a solid color. And recently another blue vinyl Title Fight 7".

Holy crap! This just arrived. I bought two golds (which were identical) on ebay and then grabbed a third from Core Tex in Germany. All arrived today and the Core Tex one is the orange/transition color. Here's another pic plus one with the transition against one of the golds:

I have one from Core-Tex waiting for me at my German address. Small chance it looks like this. This one being mine was a a bigger chance since Core-Tex didn't have that many as REV did of course haha. Well, I will find out soon.
