I noticed someone offering this test press of the Minor Threat - In My Eyes 7" for sale with this entertaining sleeve. Is it real or not?

are you asking if the sleeve is real or not? i doubt the sleeve is original seeing weve never seen it before. it does show some age, but not 30+ years. those corners are crisp. from that picture, it looks like modern (post 2000) copy paper. is there a picture of the record?

Sadly no picture of the actual record. I think the sleeve looks too crispy too. I already asked Jeff Nelson, but thus far no reply.

As far as I know there were no covers made for the tests of either of the 7"s. I'd say this one's home made but I like it. Would keep it.

As a non-Minor Threat specialist, I would say : homemade. I'd expect the band to use all capitals or none at all, but not a combination. It looks messy.
I don't think the crispy corners say much, as Jeff Nelson is known for his "punk archives, which are being downsized after continuing to be described variously as "too big" and "insane" or containing "more than my potential kids or grandkids will ever want."
Also, quite often, "...it has been kept in a plastic sleeve away from light and dust for the last 26 years."
But the ultimate verdict will be delivered by Mr. Nelson himself.

On the listing on discogs the seller states it isn't made by the band so jeff isn't going to shed any light on this...this particular seller has been selling a lot of really rare stuff..every minor threat testpress, germs test press, NA rejected, social distortion poshboy 12" etcetc so I would imagine it is a legit test press and the sleeve has some age to it.. and it looks cool! but it is handmade and non official
from the info he provided..seems to be a homemade sleeve by someone in violent apathy an given to brian baker..? but hes not 100% clear in the description though..i have seen that picture of ian used on the front cover of smashed hits fanzine from grand rapids early 83

not that this helps one way or the other, but I've dealt with irescreams in person, and the dude is very on the level.
