One card should be like "you have to pay rev shipping costs. Handout every player 100" or put it to the parkinglot.
Maybe also one: "you won the ebay action. You get 100 from all players"

don't forget you need the 2 utilities: electric company and public works? 'free parking', 'income tax' I think you can definitely keep the "GO!" space haha Electric company and public works = pressing plants?

That's a great idea!
Rainbo Records of course, and.....Henk?
Local Record Store is another option. That could make for ideas for chance cards?

"You got caught flipping the latest Title Fight, give $100 to the person on your right."
"Your stagedive attempt was a total fail, pay $300 or go to jail."
"One step forward, two steps back." (killing time quote)
"Borrowing Minor Threat, your best friend didn't care. It came back with a scratch and ringwear. Skip a turn."
You could use either 2x7-sided (as in 7") or one 12-sided (LP) dice. You could force a player (with a chance card) to have to use a 10-sided dice (10") as a punishment for 2 rounds/20minutes/whatever. (Although in my book, 10" records are very cool...)
What are you going to use for the "houses" and "hotels" ?

Ikea Expedit Shelves Ha, that's actually really good. you can have instead of a house a crate and for a hotel a full shelve that would be great.

The prison field could be a ward where you have to go when you got mad about searching for a specific record ;-)

What are you going to use for the "houses" and "hotels" ? Ikea Expedit Shelves Hahaha, that is perfect! Best idea ever. Should be feasible with a 3D printer too. Other subjects for chance cards: PayPal, ebay, PayPal claims, messageboards, merch, repressings, RSD, sniping programs, record player, test pressings...

I think, since this is 80s to early 90s themed project, Rev/Dischord etc, eBay/PayPal/Internet and other cunty organisations should be kept the fuck away from this cool thing. Keep it simple. Keep it analogue.
"You've just sent a letter to Jeff Nelson aking about the new Out of Step re-pressing. Wait a round for the reply."
"The package from Al Barile with the SSD Get It Away 12" just arrived. Pay at the door. Give the postman $20"
Something along those lines. I wouldn't try to throw the Internet into the mix. It will take the element of nostalgia out of the equation.

It will take the element of nostalgia out of the equation. I wasn't collecting records (or listening to this music for that matter) at the time, but wasn't the rev trade board kind of a game changer? As in people got really aware of what records were out there and which variants were particularly rare? Correct me if I'm wrong about this. So maybe this could be included in some way. "[inserrandomnamehere] just sold his record collection because he joined a Krishna temple. You hit the record store the very next day. SCORE! You win $xxx!" "You worked out a trade for [inserrandcomrecordhere]. Just as you're about to send out the record at your end of the deal you get a letter saying your trade partner got a better offer and he's breaking off the deal. Skip one turn."

I remember going to the bank to change currency and buy dollars, and hiding them in an envelope to some label.

Dollars or better yet: INTERNATIONAL MONEY ORDERS lol I used to buy them at some shitty little booth at the Victoria Station in London

Been so busy the last two years (divorce/moving) but the dust has settled and now I'm getting back in the saddle to create this HC monopoly!!!
Suggestions are still welcome!

Chance: you became a douchebag by ordering ten copies of that limited Gorilla Biscuits record. Luckily it got noticed on time and your order got cancelled. Go back to "first street" and listen to Fugazi playing Merchandise and Skip a turn.
