This is actually my first real attempt of contributing something to this nice board.
I have been thinking about making a Hardcore Monopoly boardgame myself. Not sure whether it should be Revelation Records only (it would make it easier and perhaps even nicer), but there are so many other cool collectable records out there, I think it needs to have more than Rev only. I am a graphic designer and have the ability to make such a thing through my work because of large printers etc.
Anyway, it needs to be narrowed down to releases of 8 different labels. And each label needs to have 2 or 3 pretty collectable records, but as we all know, the streets on Monopoly get more expensive, so the records in this case need to be as well :-)
I was thinking in making the 4 "train-stations", the 4 Minor Threat 7" es, since it is a nice coloured group of 4.
First I want to narrow down those 8 streets and need your help in making the list of records.
Please help me out with the following;
- brown street (2 records $60 range)
- lightblue street (3 records $100 range)
- pink street (3 records $140 range)
- orange street (3 records $200 range)
- red street (3 records $220 range)
- yellow street (3 records $260 range)
- green street (3 records $300 range)
- blue street (2 records $400 range, preferable called the "holy grail street")
These prices are just an example, but it needs to add up in value just a little, you know Monopoly.
As for the other spaces and chance cards, I need to think of other things, but first things first... Any help and advice is more than welcome! I want this to become a nice project!!!

Great idea!
Start with labels:
Dischord
Revelation
Touch and Go
Wishingwell
For Rev I'd suggest: GB on purple and Judge on green, fits nicely in the yellow street (yellow Rev logo!)
You could also do cities for the train stations like New York, Boston, errrr.....Orange County and.....
Questions:
-you don't want records above $400-500? Prob because the game has to be playable?
-Do you want only the somewhat older labels?

Xclaim! : 1. Kids Will Have Their Say (most expensive) 2. FU's My America (such a good record) 2. Jerry's Kids- Is This My World?
Wishingwell suggestion: 1. Uniform Choice Screaming on pink/purple 2. Insted Bonds on white (or red) 3. Unity 7" on blue (YOT doesn't qualify, red and blue too expensive)
Nemesis and Workshed are nice too, but most of those records aren't extremely collectible if you count out the tests.

Ah there is the post i was waiting for.
It's such a cool idea.
I played this a lot with friends when i was a kid but we never had Monopoly.
So if this really sees the light of day i will buy one.
If it was REV only you could get them involved, but like you said there are more cool labels with collectible stuff.
Too make it easier i would concentrate on "regular" pressings only and not a yellow GB 7" with Warzone labels or a pink BOLD 7" i guess.
Just normal releases like the purple GB and green Judge already mentioned.
The blue Side By Side album is collectible but it's a discography/compilation so not an original release.

Commitment Records would be cool since it's a Dutch label and so are you. And Robert deserves that, he did so much for (sXe) hardcore, but none of their records are selling over $25 i guess ;-)
Same goes for Third Party Records and Ambassador Records...cool bands, but not that expensive and highly sought after records.
Great project! Can't wait until this comes out!

Haha, ofcourse is everybody free in making their own version. I always had the idea of making one myself, and what cooler than to play Monopoly with your recordnerd-friends and aiming for the favorite records :-D
Turning the trainstations into actual venues is a great idea! But making it New York, Boston, Washington DC and Orange County is not a bad idea either.
I will stick to the regular pressings (like Judge on green, and GB on purple) and only want to use the older labels, so no Teamwork and In My Blood. It needs to be comprehensive. But might put in those very odd versions in the chance cards and there need to be also some other spaces filled anyway.
The prices were just to point out the value of the streets, but it needs to be realistically in balance because of the actual gameplay. I think the cheapest "streets" could perfectly make some releases of both Workshed and Nemesis!
What two records from the same label should be on the most expensive street??? I am thinking perhaps both The Fix 7"es on Touch and Go, or two Minor Threat 7"es??? Or a Pay to Cum??

cool idea i would go label wise. maybe two from rev because we love them so much? like GB and judge then warzone green, chain silver and together gold? necros fix dys, ssd, fus wishingwell maybe instead of the trains some old ones from every corner in the world? swedens anti cimex, canadas genetic control, italys indigesti... one row with the abused, antidote? so many options  prices can be fictional or lets say 10yrs ago i would defenetly put in the warzone, chain crew, chung king and really just all those classics. i would skip workshed and nemesis. but put in schiscm and hi impact and action packed! dischord, wishing well, x-claim... oh, i wouldn't put the same record more than once in. like 4 MT its boring |

So far, there are 8 streets to fill and we got 8 recordlabels with 2 or 3 most wanted releases. I might do it in this order as well:
- Hi Impact: Turning Point 7" and Zero Tolerance 7"
- Workshed: Hard Stance 7", Headfirst 7" and Carry Nation 7"
- Schism: Judge 7", PX 7" and Wide Awake 7"
- Revelation: GB - ST on purple, Judge - BID on green and Together 7" comp on yellow
- Wishingwell: Uniform Choice - SFC lp on pink/purple, Insted - BOF lp on white or red, Unity 7" on blue
- X-Claim: SSD - The kids will have their say lp, Brotherhood - st lp, and then it's gonna be either FU's My America or Jerry's Kids - Is this my world lp
- Dischord: MT 7" red sleeve, SOA 7" green vinyl and Youth Brigade - Possible ep (I want different bands, so no IME here)
- Touch & Go: Necros - Sex drive 7", The Fix - either Jan's Room or Vengeance 7", Negative Approach 7"
I am feeling not too confident leaving Taang! Records out, they did release Ganggreen, Last Rights, Slapshot, Negative FX and Nemesis either with stuff like Insted, Against The Wall, Chorus, VD and Walk Proud...
The main question however is, what two releases should be the most expensive ones??? Can't decide between Dischord, X-Claim! and Touch & Go... And then there can only be two records.
I might turn the trainstations in actual venues;
CBGB's, Fenders, Anthrax, Gilman St.
And put some very special records somewhere else, like WarZone Lion sleeve, Chung King, COS silver sleeve, Last Rights hitler sleeve, AF - United Blood, Axtion Packed Records, Even Score, Turning Point, Release, Smorgasbord Records, Brotherhood, Skate Edge Records, AIAC, Wrecking Crew, The Abused, The Mob, Urban Waste, Confront, etc... But will come back on that later.

I think having different pieces, instead of all buses would be better, more like original monopoly. Maybe a gorilla or gorilla head, a nike (instead of a regular shoe), a swatch or an X, a bold shirt, a coke bottle, a record player, a casette or crate of records, and a van... Stuff like that.
