Not Rev, but close enough I'd say. Just picked this up from zee ebay. The original Final mix Ampex reel for the Bonds of Friendship LP on Wishingwell Records. Supposedly, this is the 2nd mix (became the LP), as the band wasn't happy with the 1st mix. We're talking 1987 folks, that's 27 years already. Wow.

The original Final mix Ampex reel for the Bonds of Friendship LP on Wishingwell Records. Recorded almost 27 years ago!! That sounds sooooo long ago. Nothing ever Lasts. Supposedly, this is the 2nd mix (became the LP), as the band wasn't happy with the 1st mix.
Rich wasn't around at the time of the BOF recordings, but he probably knows why it was remixed?

Any possibility of having a coloured background, don't really care which colour?
It feels like I'm watching a 4:3 ratio movie on a widescreen TV. The (boring) grey bars are to blame.

Ah, I understand. Yeah, too many questions can make it too big a task.
I suddenly feel spoiled by some of the lengthy interviews on DCXX (Judge, Jules SBS etc)
If anyone else knows why it was "a bad record deal" please post here.

Nice! Thanks!
Would have liked to have seen some more "records" questions, like what he used to own, if there's a favorite record, if he still has his Insted BOF and WWB tests etc.
Also, I was listening to WWb today and one of the lyrics goes "...and a bad record deal" which would mean the Wishingwell deal. Why a "bad record deal"?
I would also have enjoyed any studio recording stories, more touring stories.
Keep it up, though!! Good work.

I don't enjoy the new colour setting, and prefer what we just left behind. I had no problems with the yellows at all.

See what you've done, Dom? Another collector's frenzy very likely will take place in the not-so-distant future Hahaha It's what makes (record) collecting a lot of fun though. At the same time, it can influence the value of something. Which can make it "out of reach" for future beginning collectors. It's what (I think) happened to the price of Rev tests a few years back...a few big "sales" exposed how much people were offering for them, and so many of them raised the stakes so they had a better chance of buying one. This jacked up the prices significantly. And with the sales I am referring to a) Kyle W. collection b) Jules SBS auctions c)Jeff W. (more recent) , as tons of tests were for sale at the same time. Hah! ;-) I'm not quite sure if all of this is a good thing or a bad thing... You are very right though!!! This is what makes record collecting a lot of fun... I love it ! ! ! Not good or bad perse, I'd say. It is what it is, just an analysis... Just pointing out how dynamic the availability/want-factor/price can be.

Edit: wrong thread, oops...
I can tell you that the seller is serious about that statement. I can also tell you that Battery didn't thank L&F or the labeldude on the Whatever it Takes LP credits.
I just bought the Insted-Bonds of Friendship reel. I had a different vibe with it, compared to the Battery reel.

i only have the minor thread sheep tattooed on the leg. but i am planing to extend it with some other band-logos and hardcore related stuff. I'm thinking of getting Minor Thread as well... Other options: Chain of Strenght Instead Jugde

Well that's all the proof I need. Now I want one. Let the cage fighting commence ! I love a good record buying thunderdome battle. See what you've done, Dom? I smell a reference to "Straight and Alert" aka Uniform Choice....
Maybe a critical note in the phase that U.C. went in a different direction?
But date 1st press SOIA=1987... Date 2nd UC LP =1988... So that doesn't add up entirely.
Good score! It looks legit.
Toilet paper comments are gold lol

I didn't say THEY look shit. I said the top one looks decent and the high contrast one looks shit (when compared to the other one obviously) Oh, sorry. Typo. I meant to say I don't think the bottom one looks bad either.

It's definteley rarer (the bottom one). But I think the end prices don't vary too much between the two versions. I have both, and don't think they look shit IMHO.

Concerning the existence of COMBINED EFFORT tests....I also haven't ever heard or read about any ever. So perhaps they were never made. Who knows.

Well done! You found that one quick! Here's my second latest Life's Blood pick-up. This record is really smiling at me....love it. This used to be Sam McPheeter's copy. Life's Blood-Defiance 7" 1996 Vermiform Test Pressing (probably out of 4 or 5?)

Yeah, he's got a complete collection. That makes 65 variants, although I'm not sure cause I got dizzy counting them.
I suspect that the HH demo is the winner if you don't count stuff like Beatles etc different countries pressings maybe
Do tapes/demos count? ;-)

Yeah, Mackie is a pretty bad drummer...needs instructions.....can't remember a beat....intolerable...
Check 1.30 for a perfect recovery. Even AJ doesn't notice or look up.
