I'm really stoked about this - but maybe no one else is... Anyway - more info: forums.livewire-records.com/v5/read.php?1,449569,449576#msg-449576 "The book is going to be a really comprehensive look at the album, what led up to it, why there are so many vocal tracks, why it was scrapped, and really is going to dig into what made that LP unique—especially in the context of so few NYHC bands having any melody at the time. Revelation will be releasing it and it's going to be similar in size to a 33 1/3 book and will probably have some visuals as well. I'll be working close with the band and hopefully Mr. Fury to recount one of the best HC Lps ever written. Thanks for asking about it!"

Would love to read about it, hopefully Wally will explain the lyrics a bit too. I would like to know what the story is behind these parts:
"Better watch out better be scared, heading for the dragon's lair."
and
"Instead of thinking we play Donkey Kong. There's nothing wrong with that."

Something definitely makes more sense. But I am more curious about why Donkey Kong?

But I am more curious about why Donkey Kong? I pulled out the record to check the lyric sheet and it says 'something'. Well, as you most likely know the whole part/song is about wasting your time with watching TV and playing video games instead of doing something productive, and the negative influence these forms of media can have on a person in general. Donkey Kong is just an example for the video games equals waste of time aspect I guess. Maybe DK was a particularly popular video game figure around that time, or, more likely, DK was chosen because of the gorilla reference.

Donkey Kong was very popular in the 80's and the Gorilla connection makes a lot of sense.

Hands down the most influential hardcore album of all time. It has it all and it opened the doors for many great bands to follow. I seriously can't wait to read this book. I'd love to get all the 88 OG members to sign that for me and my boy as well. :-)

Two things: Dragon's Lair was a popular stand up Arcade Game, and it first sounded like a joke to me, but I do believe (if memory serves correct) is they called Luke's practice space the Dragon's Lair.
