As the line-up is taking shape, who's coming? I know some of the Dutch guys here make the yearly trip. Quicksand confirmed today. Cro-Mags and Judge already on the line-up. I'm looking forward!

have you seen the ticket price ? Is that a problem with so many bands? I never go to festivals because i don't like them. Groezrock is the exception. Great bands, exclusive shows (like Quicksand, Done Dying and more on this edition) good vegetarian/vegan food and a nice atmosphere. I've never seen fights. And everything is well organized. Lockers, phone chargers, Wifi, you name it. This will be my 4th time. In 2011 was my first time (only for one day) because CIV played. Later Descendents, Snapcase, Boysetsfire, H2O were added. It was awesome! You will pay €20-€25 euro nowadays to see one of these bands in a club. Here you see about 10 bands (or more) a day. And every time i discover new bands that are awesome. So €75 is not much, and €110 for two days is nothing. In 2012 i went one day (Gorilla Biscuits, Refused, 7 Seconds, DYS, Slapshot to name a few) last year both days (TITR, Walter Schreifels, Flag, Into Another, Pure Love, Sparta, Bad Religion, Title Fight etc. etc) I hate festivals but this one is just great!

Snuff? Done Dying? Yeah!!!! Tickets are expensive though, christ. You have to go...it's Dan 'O!!! :-) And their only Benelux show! And Snuff is awesome too. Cro Mags wednesday in Antwerp was sick, and they are back with Judge and they will tear the Etnies tent down! I'm sure of that! Now we are only waiting for Chain Of Strength to be confirmed ;-)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Only one show? Shit. That's a real Dan 'O scream! :-) One show in Benelux and probably one or two in Germany. I don't think they will do a real tour yet. I hope i'm wrong.

Bought tickets for 2 days....
Will check: Day 1: Ignite/Descendents/Nofx and perhaps Madball Day 2: Offspring/Hives/All/Snuff/Judge/CroMags/Touche Amore/Done Dying
So many bands I don't know,so I'll try to check out as many as I can.
Not sure if I'm driving home or crashing at a hotel. Camping out isn't an option for me.

I was planning to go but since judge will play a show in london in july so i skip it.would be great to see done dying and cro-mags and quicksand but Judge got the priority and for me to drive over and plus pay for ferry would cost a lot even for one day. comfort > groezrock

Too bad xtokeex, would have been fun meeting you but now Judge plays London why cross the Channel?
Who else is going to Groezrock? Only Nico and reasontorevelate?

Went there like 10 years ago. It was ok but it already felt 'too big' back then. I'd love to see a lot of the bands playing Groezrock this year, but I just don't feel comfortable at festivals or shows that big. Anything bigger than 300 people ruins the atmosphere for me. Plus I don't understand all that "exclusive show" bulls.hit. What's the point of that?

I dont mind to go to festivals if i really have to but upto 500 people is ideal for me,but small shows with 100 people in a small club is the best.however if i do singalong or moshing or whatever i hate when someone's sweaty body touch me so i like smaller show with gaps haha. i just found out quicksand going to play here in london on the 12th of june.one more reason not to go to groezrock.

i hate festivals and i hate the fact that sooooooo many bands play in 2 days that you have to manage and plan previously what you wanna see and what not.
i'm not going. i planed to go for seeing judge either at groez or in stockholm but my plans changed slightly from that too.
well, lets see if i go to iepers. maybe, maybe not. who knows.

Not seeing Quicksand? Only band I really want to see is Quicksand, for the rest I will hanging out. Ah, the concert police. Just kidding. I thought they were playing last, but I was wrong. So, yeah I'll be in the Quicksand pit because I want to see Nofx after that. I saw them in 94 for the last time, which was great. I also prefer smaller club shows, but I can adapt to a fest like this. And several bands don't really play 200-300 venue shows anymore.

I probably go to Ieperfest since Gorilla Biscuits and SNFU are playing the same day.
Groezrock was great. Lots of cool bands, hangouts with friends, meeting internet friends in real life (reasontorevelate, Patvans) and awesome vegan/vegetarian food! Till next year Groezrock, when Chain Of Strength will be playing! ;-)

I love Mike's vocals, I thought it was on point at Groezrock, later a friend of mine told me Mike's vocals were way better in Essen last year. Glad I have seen Judge but Quicksand remains the band of the weekend for me.

Judge was in top form, and the vocals were better than in Essen. Mike seems to be getting in better shape as he had more air to sing. Sammy played great too, better speed and tightness. I've been critical of his drumming in the past, tonight it was top notch.
Other bands:
Cro-Mags: amazing set and response. This line-up is so good. I hadn't seen them before, so I can't compare, but the guitar and drumwork were very impressive. The way AJ plays those riffs with such ease, amazing. Leeway intro was great to hear as well. Great pit and so much dust in the air people could hardly take pics anymore haha
Touche Amore: impressive set, will check them out more now. Sincere singer and the place was packed.
Quicksand: I tried to get into it, but it's not for me. I can't stand the vocals and I keep waiting..and waiting...and waiting for some kind of energy rush. I kept thinking "this is half of Beyond!"...Sorry Orangory, Nico, everyone.. I tried.
Descendents: sounded great, funny stuff in between songs. Loved these songs since 1990 or so, enjoyed it a lot. They were the reason I went on Friday.
Ignite: not too great. One new song, boring as hell. I've seem them too many times in small clubs, the Empericon tent was too unpersonal.
NOFX: great funn, these guys come up with new jokes everytime. Saw them in 94 on a sunny outdoor fest. Milo did a song, sounded even better then Fat Mike haha. " We're a 1000 times better than the Offspring. But they get payed 1000 times more than us. So there."
Offspring: impressive liveshow performance of the Smash album ,which still holds up easily. Professional musicians and band, but the "this is my job" factor was present IMHO. I enjoyed the still catchy songs. Planned to leave early, but everytime a new song started I kept listening.
Done Dying: one of the highlights for me, but you guys know me by now right? Some mistakes here and there, the band seemed nervous. Mike took ages for the soundcheck, never happy with the sound. Hope they come back for a tour later. They need a few more songs too. Man Against Man and No Prisoners were great though.
The Hives: rock stars doing a rock star performance, but at the same time a sort of rock star parody. Confusing, eh? "I love you, do you love me?". Sense of humor was great though: "You must dance better, or I will destroy you" (demonstrates a wild dance, jumps). "If you don't........I will destroy you!" Then: "do you want to see the Offspring?" (crowd:yeaaaaaaah) "You cannot see the Offspring if I have destroyed you. It is impossible." lol
I saw some awful bands as well: Falling In Reverse (crabcore?), Devil waers Prada
And last but not least, I got sick of all the 5inch font shirts with "HARDCORE LIVES" or "HARDCORE ......whatever" on them.

Oh, and some great ska bands on the small MacBeth stage, enjoyed that.
Bought some records and books. Got the Insted Live LP on blue for E10, and it had a handritten message in the dustsleeve. It was #/25, and it appears to be the record release version! Unexpected sweet score.
