... the Crippled Youth 7" with the BOLD stamp? I have always wondered what they looked like but no one I knew had one and google image search never really revealed anything. So about 2 years ago I was at a record shop here in Tokyo and found a CY 7" that had written on the price tag was on clear vinyl. For whatever reason I always thought the BOLD stamps were on the labels. I don't know why I thought that. I just did. So every time I found a CY 7" I would check the labels for the BOLD stamp. No different this time. I took the record to the counter, pulled it out of the cover and there was no BOLD stamp. Instead there was a ton of black specks in the wax. I thought they looked pretty cool and bought the thing anyway. At home I compared the two records and found out that the difference were not only the specks. The shade of the clear wax was also completely different. My previous copy was clear leaning toward the blue. This was was clear with a hint of yellow. I guess the bits of black made it yellowish. Anyway, as I was packing it into a new re-sealable poly bag I froze for a split second because there it was, staring me in the eye, the fucking BOLD stamp on the back of the cover. Attachments:

I alway thought the stamp was on the front cover until I saw a pic of one a few days ago on IG, same spot your copy is stamped. I'm gonna have to get my copy out now and double check it.

I have one of these as well. I think the stamp on my copy is just a little bit lighter though.

Just the other day i pulled out my CY again and i found the bold stamp too. Well i have to say, its nearly invisible but its there. Now i'm wondering if there are way more people that looked at it like me, and havent looked that close. When i looked at first place i expected a stamp like dobeks and not a close to invisible one!
Guys, check them again!

I checked that photo, but I can't see it. if you look very close, you can see the outterlinings of bold.

So I checked my Crippled Youth 7". And as you can see looks like there is no stamp. But on closer inspection, you can see a faint outline of where the stamp was. It's almost impossible to take a picture of with my phone. But it's easiest to see the D.

People don't post pics of them because it would be the easiest thing ever to bootleg.

I'm not that technical, so maybe it's still easy to bootleg it. And I saw it immediately on the first pic xreganx It's there! :-) My eyes are good. Maybe because i knew what i could expect...chris2far already showed me his pic in a FB PM haha.

Wow.. these have to be the faintest BOLD stamps in the existence. I guess due to the glossiness of the sleeve coating and due to the ink being water based and probably shite it seems like it took a long time for it to dry. I can see in my stamp that the ink didn't stick to the surface but sort of bled about as it dried. I think a lot of copies had the stamps simply wiped off before they got to dry. Hence the faintness.
Just a theory.

Yeah I'm starting to think maybe even all the clear 7"s were stamped.
