There's been a several threads in the past months about the Turning Point records, comps, split with NE etc.. I took everything I had and put it into one massive ALL IN ONE post. TP heads: please point out mistakes, chronology inconsistencies (which releases in 1990 and 1991 came first as I was guessing) and finally if you have anything that is listed in red it means I don't have it. If you do I will give you a pot of gold, 6 camels, a barrel of AK 47s, box of SEIKO watches and Iranian conjoined twins for your erotic pleasure in exchange for any records I am missing. Awesome post!
Did you notice the cover of the split 7" with yellow labels is much lighter compared to the cover of the split 7" with the blue labels.
I think there are 5 "pressings" of the LP.
Missing the info on the demo 7".
I really hate I missed out on the 2nd test press of the Discography double LP.

Hey Nico, All of my covers for the split are identical. Not a tiny bit different. Sun exposure perhaps? What does the 5th LP look like? The boot 7" I think I only have one and no desire to look for other variations of that so it wasn't worth the effort sticking it in the mix. Aside from Judge/YOT I give up on bootlegs... I once started buying boots of Minor Threat releases but after realizing there are like 876856433 of them I called it quits before it got too late.

TP/NE split: I found it a bit weird that there was a distinct difference between the two different labels. It applied to both the gold and black vinyl copies. I also think somebody else noticed this before too. So I doubt it is sun related. TP LP: www.lucabrasidesign.com/?q=node/5NA 4 Turning Point – it’s always darkest LP ? test presses, black vinyl 1st press 500 clear vinyl, dark blue stripe on cover (looks almost complete black), tan labels, blue hand on lyric sheet size 12" by 12" 1st press 900 black vinyl, dark blue stripe on cover (looks almost complete black), tan labels, blue hand on lyric sheet size 12" by 12" 2nd press ? black vinyl, slighlty lighter cover, dark blue stripe on cover, different type of cardboard, white labels, blue hand on lyric sheet size 12" by 12" 3rd press ? black vinyl, slighlty lighter cover, dark blue stripe on cover, different type of cardboard, white labels, red hand on lyric sheet size 12" by 12" 4th press ? black vinyl, bright blue stripe on cover, white labels, red hand on lyric sheet size 12" by 12" 5th press ? black vinyl, bright blue stripe on cover, tan labels, letter size lyric sheet in black and white Any Minor Threat boots up for sale?

It seems I have some more looking to do.
Could you all please have a look in your records and see the WORDS TO LIVE FOR comp and what cover your red copy comes with? Easy ringwear semi matt or no ringwear glossy? I guess I'm just gonna go on the percentage with this one to determine which is the correct sleeve for this one. Also if you can find a black vinyl with glossy cover? Please let me know!

I will try to take some pictures of the TP/NE split to point out the color difference, I can't seem to find the info about the difference in sleeves anymore. It was either at the React! board or the Livewire board.
I will take a look at my copies of Words To Live For, I am pretty sure my red copy has a glossy sleeve. I gave it a spin during the weekend.

well done indeed. My white label and yellow label Forever comps have an identical sleeve - the darker yellow version. I have a red and black 2nd Press WTLB 7" comp. My black copy has the glossier/darker sleeve. This is something i never noticed before. I know i should have an extra black copy somewhere. I will see how it compares once i locate it. Also, one of my green sleeve rebuilding comps came with a pro-veg insert from Temperance. I took a pic and put it on DF. And one of my black 1st press WTLB comps did not have the mutli-page insert, but had a single page lyric sheet. You can also see a pic on DF.

also, i have four copies of the TP/NE split: 2 gold w/ yellow labels, 1 black w/ yellow labels and 1 black w/ blue labels. All the covers are identical. As one might surmise, i am looking to pick up a gold with blue labels.....

Any chance you would want to trade the single page insert version?

Put it in my agenda. I can confirm the Word To Live For on red comes in the super high glossy sleeve.

I got a message on DF to check out someone's tradelist. She said she has been out the scene for 15years and wanted to sell off her collection. I check it out - it's a lot of 90s emo stuff, but there was a Turning Point s/t on red (sans insert). I shot her a message saying FYI that turning point 7" could go for a good amount of cash. She responds with "oops, i just sold it for $15."
also, i looked and i have two red and 2 black WTLB 7"s. Both reds and a black that the high glossy sleeve and one of the blacks has the less glossy sleeve.

So I was listening to It Always Darkest Today and when I was putting the record away I noticed something I have never noticed before. It is numbered on the dust sleeve and inside the jacket (on the first press black). Does anyone else have this. I have had multiple first presses and this is the first I've ever noticed it.

xreganx That's fantastic! I only have a first press clear and a later pressing on black, but I do have a first press black on the way to me in the mail as we speak. I'll check it when it gets here. Very interesting! @poisonxgirls , ferry - Have either of you seen this before?

In the UK it was a common thing that in the record stores they only display the sleeve and the record with insert is behind the counter. They use this kind of stamps to identify the right sleeve with the right record.I don`t think that 8000+ copies pressed of this lp ever. that`s my 2 cents.

None of my inner sleeves are numbered. So I am going with XtokeeX explanation.

That makes a lot more sense. Obviously wasn't numbering. First press was only 900. But I think you may have solved the mystery.

Yeah that numbering on the sleeve was done at my local record store 20/25 years ago. Only the store owner also wrote that number on the sleeve, which sucks...
