i dont know about you guys, im kind of happy about that release. not a fan of it, but its definitely the red headed step child of rev releases and needs some attention. hope its a solid orange. the fact that theres a 1000 of them means it should be really easy to get well after rsd.
i will take a rev 7" any day over a 12". getting kind of tired of 12"s. ive gotten way too many from rev this year and last.

I agree. Although, I'd love to see the market research on this one. 1,000 pressed for, as you said, the red headed step child seems a little overboard. I'm guessing you'll find these in the $1.00 bin this time next year.

Or you'll start seeing red copies for $90 this time next month. Crazier things have happened.

You already should regret it.
Tons of bargain bin records from that era have turned into $60+ records after a little attention over the past 13 years. This record will be getting lots of attention from people who never gave it a chance or even know about it.

Like I said in my other RSD 13 post I can't understand rhis choice. I do like this ep, reminds me of early COC but I'm in the minority. When this first dropped kids ridiculed this release and I'd much rather rev reissued the together comp, judge, side by side or chain eps first. Warzone would be sweet but I understand that this will not happen as Raybies didn't want it to happen so I can understand that non reissue but SLIPKNOT!!! Does anyone actually think Rev will offload 100 of these??? Nitpicking isn't orange way to close to the original red unless like Geoff said that it's a solid version.

Am I the only one who hopes Rev never represses any if the good early rev records again?

Rev's principle is keeping the music available. From that point of view (and focussing on the early catalogue) repressing the Slipknot 7" isn't such a weird choice. As are the Supertouch LP and a 12" extended version of the Inside Out 7" that have been in the works for a long time now.
From that same point of view, it wouldn't make sense if they would repress the Chain Of Strength 7", the Bold 7", the Judge 7"s and some other classics, as the music is available on LP versions now.

I hear what you say about making music availble to lets be honest here how many kids will be interested in buying a slipknot ep compared to the amount of kids who will go gagga over the early rev releases? You can't tell me that it wouldn't make sense for Rev to reissue the early catalogue because we all know that Rev is a cash cow and that reissuing these would make them a small fortune. Hey fair play if they are releasing slipknot to get more kids to hear the music but I think that they probably have a ton of old sleeves that need filling and rather than waste them or waste money on reprinting older releases covers they thought they'd try and shift them through RSD13, Call me a cynic but thats what I think.

I don't think rev should redo any of the classic 7"s or anything else that is currently available in some vinyl format. This make sense, what I don't get is people bitching to no end about it. Bitch about the rev vault,if you want to bitch.

I dunno, it's a great 7," and I think people have caught on by now. I wouldn't say it's necessarily in the same league as, say, a Citizens Arrest 7," but I think a lot of people who would buy a CXA 7" reissue would also buy a Slipknot reissue.
The bottom line is if you already have an infrastructure to distribute your other releases, it doesn't hurt to have a record like this in print, even if you only sell a hundred or so a year. Kids appreciate it, and people who run a shop/distro appreciate getting to stock another cool record on the shelf on the reg.
And this is purely speculation, but I'm guessing they had to get the parts remade to reissue the record, and a gimmick like "ORANGE VINYL RSD EXCLUSIVE!" helps them get initial cost off the ground.

Hahah I wish! The problem is that I'm missing so many versions already I don need more added to my want list lol. But yeah seriously I agree with what others have said there is no need to repress judge, chain, YOT, SBS, bold, etc as these have all been repressed and are all available still. That said I think the coolest one would be an inside out 7". Something that hasn't already been repressed to death. Oh and I'm not sure if rev would repress the together comp coz wouldn't that be similar to repressing LESC since it has warzone on it?

I am sure it will sell out, but I am guessing some online retailers will have it in store for a few years for 10.99 or some other outrageous amount.
I much rather would have seen the 2nd Burn 7" or the Inside Out 7".

I can't help but wonder how many people are going to buy this because they think it's the other Slipknot.
