Since the "pick up" thread is getting polluted with high shipping cost stories, here's a new one...
Describe your opinion on Rev's shipping costs when ordering. How often and what did/do you order? Real vs charged shipping cost?

Within the USA they are very reasonable.

Ok, so I'm going to order some stuff this week...
-is paypal use possible? I don't own a cfredit card. -does Rev state actual value or a low value on the customs forms?

Just placed an order from Rev for me and a friend. Ordered 11 LPs, 3 7"s, 1 hoodie and 1 DVD. Total before shipping was $182. Shipping was $122.50 to Australia. So total after shipping was $304.60. I know it was a really big order, but that just seems really really high for shipping.

The overseas shipping is the main reason why I haven't ordered from Rev, ever.

I'm bringing life back to my label....send all your revelation record releases wants you have. Still stock are all rev LP represses even the youth of today + ignite lps that are out of press. LPs are $13 usd and $15 for rev 25th LP. 7"s are $6.
Give a day or so to get you a shipping price is our of country.

I can keep shipping prices reasonable to Canada if I restrict the number of records per order to two 12"s and maybe a 7". Anything over that I get royally screwed.
For Canada Post it's all about having the cardboard mailer slide through this plastic slot ruler thing. If it doesn't fit, postage goes to a new level. I assume the rules go both ways.

That's an interesting way of postage calculation, by size. Are you saying that I can send a real heavy shit like a chunk of lead or something for cheap as long as the thickness of the package fits into the ruler thingy? From all the countries that I ever sent parcels from the postage increment rate was based on weight and weight alone. Usually up to 2kg was cheap (SMALL PACKET rates) and then over the 2kg it usually went into ridiculous amounts. There are some size limitations based on combined length+width+depth of the package but they are quite high I imagine, leaving you quite a bit of room to maneuver. I mean I sent some real big shit in the past and never really went over the size limit (although I saw the lady measure the package). I don't think the size reflects in any way on the price of the stamp though.

Work for an airline or know anybody who does?
Back in 2001-2004 I was able to fly to London, Amsterdam, Paris, Vienna and Rome $50 - 75 (just tax on tix from nyc) 1st class seat too since I was a sales manager.
I would take 2 empty 100 count record cases twice a year. Then once a month I'd take shoulder bag and shop less...I did this till full with all the latest and greatest techno lps since shopping online with shipping suxed. many were limited to less than 50 copies as a test press and unknown djs never got record deals no matter how hot it was.....then maybe a remix was done by a known DJ to make it more commercial and lost was the org mixes....kinda like demo to 1st real release in hardcore.
Ask around for my airline had family and friend deals too. I'll gladly take a spot on your friend list if open....Hahahaha

If you can slide the mailer through the plastic thing, it goes as letter. If it doesn't it gets priced as a parcel and the postage price increases 4x, right off the top. One fold perforation on a mailer can double my postage right off the bat. Weight only makes it worse.

Last time I ordered something from revhq was in 2009 for the Mouthpiece discography LP, and I had to send money inside a letter because they didnt accepted paypal (even nowdays) and I never had credit card (even now hahaha) so there wasnt that $4 extra for shipping..
I really dont like that $4 extra for shipping overseas, thats really the main reason why I stopped ordering things, I mean now I can ask a friend with credit card to order some stuff but shipping will kill me..
Anyways does anyone here also sent money inside an envelope or letter to order something from rev?? its really funny and risky.

So Rev doesn't accept Paypal? Didn't know about that. That means I'll probably never order, hahaha.
