I recently realized that there are so many all sorts of different frames and cabinets (made to display your vinyl) being sold at the Disk Union. For a second there I entertained an idea of buying two of those to hang the Chung Kings on a wall but the initial novelty of the idea quickly worn away and I never got around to it.
PS: I have "FUCK JESUS" written on my laptop with a silver marker. One of the kids at school noticed it and asked me "What's a Jesus?"

In regards to framing, I wouldn't frame a Chung King coz I've seen pics of one that is all yellowed from being framed. If I was going to frame records I would try to avoid white covers, unless it's a cheap record, or one you don't care if yellows a bit. But I wouldn't frame records just cos I prefer framed posters, and barely have enough wall space for them as it is.

I do take the light factor into consideration with regards to EVERYTHING. That includes record spines. My room is semi dark at all times. I never ever open the blinds. So even if I did frame a record and hanged it on a wall I think it would be just about as fine as Mona Lisa in Musee du Louvre

my answer is no.
i am paranoid as shit (not really) i always loved the idea of hanging the records up or display them in shelves. i guess kev finn has a picture of it somewhere... then i thought what if theres a fire? or some shit? wouldn't you want to try to save some records after you saved your wife, kids, cats and dogs? i would. at least 2 boxes. so i have sorted my collection, that i can take the two boxes and run.

I have one record framed, Token Entry's Jaybird. The record is a double and the Go-Kart repress, so I don't have a lot of attachment to it. But I love the cover art.
Like Dobek, my "Record" room is low lit, no direct sunlight. The record is in an acid free frame.
I'd be very hesitant to frame any original LP (especially Chung King...hell even the Hawker press of Jaybird).

Low light rooms are good, and no sunlight is the way to go if you're going to frame records but regular light bulbs also cause discolouration, just not as much as direct sunlight of course. So yeah if I was you Dobek I would possibly look into maybe making something like a copy of the artwork to frame. But again to each their own.

I've considered hanging up some records on the inside of a door that opens to where my records are (under a staircase). That could work, since it's closed 99% of the time.

I got a record framed & it looks great. No sunlight gets anywhere near it though so it's ok.

Wow is that on clear vinyl - where did you find that? eBay. Two and a half years ago. And also found a second copy a couple of months ago.
