Does anyone still collects REV in 2023? I mean like all version of represses and new releases? Or did you cut it back to one or two version of each and stopped getting represses except for certain releases that mean a lot to you? It has been rather quiet here, recently.

I'm guessing that a lot of the people who used to post on here managed to pick up most of their big wants, and now we're in a situation where everyone is chasing the same small pool of records, e.g. a GB/102. So probably not much movement in peoples' collections in recent years.
I'm also guessing that there are not many people who are collecting all versions of new releases and all represses. Probably just me, geoff, ferry and bart.

Good question. I check back here every other week. I was buying every repress but toned it down. I'll check out the new releases before buying. Spending most of my extra cash on other records (Rock, some popular music, Indie stuff, Dischord's recent colored reissues, etc.) I have everything I can afford of the old stuff. I was fortunate enough to be into hardcore in the late 80's and buy the older records when they came out. Still don't the Together comp. Oh well.

I quit the rev repress game back around 2017. After multiple presses that were identical and so many presses being made. With shipping spending hundreds $ a month on nothing special seemed silly. There is probably only 2-3 rev records left on my want list, even they aren’t high up on priorities.

I got bored of all the color represses and stopped buying them. I’ve stretched a point for that gold/blank label/Batman stamp version of CCME of a few months ago, and for the Turning Point 7”, but other than that, nothing excites me…. Those represses cost a lot, and will never be rare collector items . But still a lot of people find them fancy, so it’s cool that way. My friend Simone (TrapJoe on IG) is another diehard collector of them all.

I recognize that the desire to acquire repressings has decreased considerably. For releases of which I own a test press, I am more likely to try to "keep up" with the new batches. I seem to buy every GB and Judge LP variant that comes out, but pass on most of the others. It doesn't help that storage space is becoming an issue, and that prices are sky high sometimes.
Verbal Assault's Trial was re-released on Atomic Action, Better than a Thousand on End Hits Records....I stopped right there and then with those. They just don't appeal enough.
Just like wscottyg I'd rather explore some new bands and releases. Or maybe old stuff that I missed out on.
I do miss the board but check a few times a week.

I never was a Rev collector per se. There are a few bands / releases I have multiple copies of, but I’m nowhere near the level most people on here are. The only record on Rev I will probably continue to buy, no matter how many represses there are, is Start Today. Generally I don’t bother with all the represses Rev does, unless they add something to the original, like liner notes, extra pictures,… I really liked the reissue of the Turning Point 7”, mainly because of the way they modelled the Rev logo after the Hi-Impact logo. Didn’t buy a copy originally, but after seeing pictures on chungking48’s blog I caved.
I think I’ve said it before on here: generally I think it’s awesome labels keep repressing all these classic records, so future generations have easy access to this part of the culture.

I still keep up with represses but only on 1-23.
I keep acquiring rare rev records that are missing inserts dammit.

Yes and no. Apart from a handful of big hitters which I'll probably never own due to their forever increasing prices I have almost everything I need. However I'm still buying certain represses like GBs, Judge and Inside out. I'll guess I'll only stop there when Rev does.

Still collecting rev 1/23 represses. And a few new stuff like big laugh, turning point etc.. I can't relate with many new bands like drain, dare etc.. when i started collecting, the final press was supposed to be FINAL. The subsequent 2012 represses were very cool imo. I still love a new color but now is something out of control. On the other hand everything from rev is sold out in no time. Anyway I've recently posted a pic that shows the difference between the labels of the latest gb 7" repress (the color of the paper is different). That was more interesting than the new color itself so I still have fun but I don't know if I'll hold on for a long time.

i used to but since a few years i stopped and even sold most represses that where past the "final press". just kept a handful of colors that i really enjoy. keeping my collection small and humble. 4 colors of "bringin it down" and "start today" are enough for me these days. i guess the most versions i own are from the SOIA 7". there i just coulnd't part with the blue and the ugly ivory one yet. also stopped buying new releases and tbh i have no idea whats new and hip these days.... but if i find a silver sleeve and a warzone b-side of the gb 7" then i might consider my rev collection complete.

So it seems I am the only one? Somehow, this reminds me of Strife. Not sure why...

So it seems I am the only one? At least there will be less competition for limited new stuff for you then.
