So a chap from Italy sends me a message and asks to sell The Promise test pressing. I'm like what do you offer? He goes 70EUR I feel it's a low start as the clear vinyl used to sell for 100+USD way back when. So I go to discogs to look up the latest prices and I'm in for a ride. Red vinyl was at like 20 to 30USD then suddenly one sells for like a grand or more and now everybody lists their records for thousands hahahaha
WTF...
I want to know who was it that paid a grand for the red vinyl LP and congratulate them.

Either a Discogs glitch or a money laundry scheme?

I was talking to that Italian bloke and he thinks whoever bought this thought it was a real BANKSY made jacket.
LOL
I like how everyone just jumped in hoping to cash in.

I started getting emails almost every day a few weeks ago from people on discogs wanting to buy my Promise LPs. I wondered if maybe there was an episode about this record on a podcast or something that reminded people that it exists. But it turns out that no, the recent interest is to do with the artwork. Somehow some art community seem to have got wind of this LP all these years later and they are scrambling to try to buy one.
People seem to be offering me around $200 for the record. I deleted them all without response.

Somehow some art community seem to have got wind of this LP all these years later and they are scrambling to try to buy one. People seem to be offering me around $200 for the record. I deleted them all without response. Somehow this peaked my interest. So the cover apparently shows some piece of art by Banksy (couldn't find the original though) or was t least inspired by Banksy. That would explain the hype. People even advertise the record on Discogs with a reference to Banksy. I'm very tempted to add that LP to Banksy's Wikipedia, haha. He did do an official CD cover for Blur and a prank one of Paris Hilton's debut CD (her having released an album is the most shocking fact of this research.), so it wouldn't be too far of a stretch... $200 seems like a lowball offer, even though the hype seems to be dying already. The sales chart on Discogs for the last year is absolutely bonkers. Congratulations to whoever sold that record for 1000€. I applaud you for your shrewd business sense. You can buy it back for a fraction of that now. Kudos. Edit: Just checked Popsike. One sold for 2.5k in January. Wow, just wow. Does that put this record in the top 5 of most expensive hardcore LPs ever sold?

Funny that's not even done by BANKSY. The original said I FOUGHT THE LAW on the wall.
The of artwork was bootlegged by Guav for the Promise LP.
It's like paying a Chunking price for some shitty 2000s HC band with a CK rip off tour cover. There's been tons of those.
