Yesterday I rolled to Disk Union in Shinjuku and had my mind blown. Here's what I picked up on the cheap: Here's a collage of what I didn't pick up either because: a) I already had it b) it was too fucking expensive Question to the GB people: What's the deal with the Another Direction 7"? I understand this was some sort of follow up or Part II to the A New Direction from Flex!? But never went past the test press stage? And this is supposed to be it? I think I saw these with yellow labels / no writing as well. Or am I imagining things? Anyway, I picked it up at $12. Call it a score of the day? Anybody knows what was written under the cut out bit? Now that was yesterday. This morning I got a postman bringing me a massive box with my name on it. I was curious. Turns out it was from my friend Brian. He emailed me few days ago saying he had an extra yellow copy of the REV25 LP that he could send me. I said awesome and gave him my address. I expected to get just the record but instead the dude sent me a WHOLE VIP package with BOTH LPs, yellow and blue, booklet, screened and numbered poster and a bunch of randoms like PAUL FRANK EARPLUGS (WTF??!!) Have I known that yesterday I wouldn't have ordered the thing from REV yesterday... Hopefully they'll send me an extra booklet for my blue LP as there are no inserts which I think is bad bad bad... with those bands ... so much insert potential had gone to waste... If tomorrow I will get the Champ tests this will be one of THE weeks of 2012

That Another Direction test press is a cool 400 bucks if I remember correctly. Great score!
Is that the Fix 7"? I see atleast four records I would murder for. Must have been an amazing day.

Yes, it is the FIX 7" They priced it at almost $4K though. I don't think anyone will buy this anytime soon. Off of that collage I only REALLY REALLY want the United Blood 7" Very expensive (about the same as the most expensive on popsike) and NON skinhead B-label. Beautiful condition though. This is the only copy I've ever seen with non-yellowed tape on the sides. Looks almost as new. If I had the cash I would buy it in a heartbeat.
I could use that green Hitler as well. I have the white one from Lecky but I think green looks cooler.
And maybe that SOA 3rd press. Maybe as I have the 1st one.
The rest I either have or don't want.

That store does seem to know about prices/values, so how come they still sell so many records for cheap? I wish a store like that was in my town. Good score!

The "Another Direction" goes between $300 - $400 USD. I have a copy with blank yellowish-orange labels. $12 is the steal of the year.

I swear I've seen that GB 7" before. I think it sold on Ebay not too long ago - or one that looked exactly like it with the label cut out and everything. It was definitely more than $12.

You should take up playing black jack with your luck. How the fuck that record ended up in that store let alone japan I have no idea. There are around 25 another direction 7"s. They are pressed on that material that starts with a "L" Of the 25 that were made, 5 or so come with the blue/greenish labels. and the rest have the yellow labels. Of the 20 or so yellow label versions, half of which were given away as promos - they have the flex stamp on them. The other 10 or come with blank yellow labels. All of the green/blue labels versions have the words Gorilla Biscuits cust out of the record. This was done by the guy who made them for Burkhard, as he thought that Flex was maken a bootleg. For $12 thats a good score. I think now I know where all 5 of these are now. I have 3 of the 25 here

> That store does seem to know about prices/values, so how come they still sell so many records for cheap? This shop is a little weird because sometimes they'll get you the average fair prices, sometimes shit that's usually expensive, ie: Madball Set It Off - $40-$50 on ebay, they will sell this for $4-$10. I can't even count how many of those I flipped. But on the other hand sometimes, shit you can pick up on ebay for $3 they will price at $40 (mostly 70s UK punk but sometimes I see retardedly priced US HC as well) > How the hell did all those rare records ended up in Japan? It always puzzles my mindJP kids have money and the internet > Wow! How much was the Abused 7"?Around $550 if I remember correctly. Not the bargain of the year for sure. * * * Now, I haven't written on here for a while but here's a quick report: The day after I made this post I DID get the Champ tests. So the latest represses I can now put to bed. Today I got the REV's 25th Anniv Pack. Is it just me or does the 25th A shirt look really half arsed. I know they can do a cool comp shirt, ie: The Way It Is shirt but this?? I also got the poster and the extra booklet thingy I can use as an insert for my blue LP I have a spare LP on blue (at least I think it's blue, I haven't opened it) if anyone wants it. And now it's time for the fly in my soup: I got the Quicksand 7" but the insert is beat to shit. Someone just shoved it inside the cover by force so it all creased with bent corner, another crease running across. Generally shite looking. Bummer.

Japan is like the top 2 record collecting country, I'd be surprised NOT to find records there.

At first, I thought they glued the insert to the flap. When removing the insert, I was really nervous that it would tear. Damn thing had a bent corner and a crease too!
