I know that many people are collecting rev 1-22, it's a huge collection if you really want to complete, but this days prices rise too much for some records, so I decided to avoid (for the moment) item like wz numbered or rejected, ck, gb /102 and wz b-side.
So I thought to collect the "regular" presses, but adding the 90's revival, so 1-22 and 53-54-59-60-62-64-65-67-72-80-91-108-150.eventually 147.Now I just missed wz clear, together yellow, soia Gilman. And burn lgs blue. Close to my goal, just would like to know the different ways to collect rev!

I was working on REV 1-22 but am buying a house so I'm paring down my collection to just the bands i love and going for complete sets of their stuff.
My collection right now that I'm keeping and building is just Burn, Supertouch, GB, Straight Ahead and a few other bands.

Inside Out 7", Burn 7", Quicksand 7" and the Dag Nasty LP.
Only REV releases I truly collect.

Just to have some of the key items like CK, Chain silver sleeve and together on yellow. I have those now but wouldn't mind warzone on clear and green although they're not main wants but would be nice for the collection. I guess my main rev wants now are GB 7" on green and YOT-CCME 7" on orange (although it's not an official REV release but is related). I'm not brave enough to start chasing any test pressings. That's another level altogether.

Since I collect Rev (and New Age) since the beginning, I have quite a few. I want it all, the whole roster, every release, every color, every version, everything... yes, this makes me a record collector and sometimes a nerd. I tend to crawl up my little room with some of my boxes and carress them. look at them and see differences. I love that. It makes my normal hectic life (2 kids and running a healthfood shop) come to rest. I need that. I don't go for the Lion sleeve, that's not a real goal. I don't go for splatches in the vinyl ether. I go for everything else. You can check my collection at: www.lucabrasidesign.com/?q=node/2and yes, I want the tests also. but money is limited and I won't die without them. I have a lot of patience.

My main goal is the get all colorversions from rev -1 to 23 and from the rest i just take what i can.
Top rev wants are still WZ on clear and Togerher on yellow and one day a judge test of BIS or and the Storm single.
Otherwise i just collect old shit! 77-90 hc and punk stuff. Mainly singles. Still looking for saints, pagans, anti cimex, shitlickers, fastbacks, vicious visions.... Just to name a few

Every version of every rev record released in the 80s including tests. Reissues of stuff from that period are less of a priority, but I pick them up when it's convenient. Beyond that era I just get what I like, usually just a play copy. Like, I love In My Eyes, but I don't need a million versions of their records. The newer stuff rev has been putting out has been killing, but I don't really "collect" new hc, I just want a copy to listen to, and I'm not concerned if it's a rare version our whatever.
It's good to have goals you'll never accomplish, u know? Why not shoot for the stars. Even if you cross a record off the list a year, that's slow progress.

my goal use to be collect every single version i could get my hands on, even test presses. i really use to enjoy getting variations, color differences and splotches. it was easy to do 10 years ago. then times changed. other people started enjoying it as much as i did and prices sky rocketed. after that the repress game started and it moved quicker than i wanted to keep up with.
so here we are today, im missing a couple represses on color, but nothing major. i still get all of the new releases without fail. i enjoy trying to find all i can, but im out of the test press game. people are willing to spend hundreds on brand new tests, so i gracefully bow out. time to time i do get a good hook up, but not too often. once in a while i stumble across something good. i still collect doubles of most everything, except the represses. i enjoy collecting rev stuff in generally and applaud everyone that does the same. EXCEPT for those who only collect 1-22. why drop rev 23? you guys kill me!

Ha ha, true that the most collecting 1-23 I feel like that record doesn't match the others, same for into another, not bad records;but not as powerful as burn or chain,(But its just my opinion) Second I play drums from long time, still hate "fake drums" ;-) When I started to collect in 2010, prices was much lower(I've seen that prices increase a lot in 2013), I passed two times for a wz white label, very cheap. I knew everything about press info, and still I love the classic blue label more than the white one, but I did not imagine that prices would be rised so much ! Fortunately i've got many records at decent price!

I will stick to the classics, I would love more test pressings or rare presses in my collection, but prices are out of control.... if you don't have at least 1500$ aside, or some heavy hitters for trade, you can't even try to take your chances on , say, a GB/102, or a NFAA test press. So, what I have scored so far, is most likely what i will have... and I'm quite satisfied with it. Rev 23 is questionable, but hey, it's still Ray Cappo and John Porcelly, so I would definitely include it in the Rev hall of fame. after that, only a few titles have taken my interest....and I consider very few releases as significant as the early ones... In my Eyes LP's, Generations comp., the YOT CCME re-release with the original artwork...and a few more. Represses are boring, with some exception, the Judge, GB and Rev 25 singles, for example... keep on hunting Rev rarities though, it's fun and a top record nerd pastime !!

The final press / 100 is a triple digit banger tho. That's dedication right there.

I'm not the kind of guy that sets a specific goal. As a collector and fan of the label/bands I would love to have it all... but that's not going to happen. In fact, the older I get, the less organized I get. I don't contribute to the "want list" threads but I love reading everyone else's lists. I used to write want lists all the time - I find them in a drawer or in an old notebook and I laugh at them. I admire a lot of you on this board for your dedication and time spent (and money haha) tracking down and researching all of these specific records. In fact, the most fun for me is when someone recognizes something "different" or "unique" and then that new info is out there for the rest of us to document and hunt down. So I guess my Rev collecting goal is to get as many records as I can while being realistic and having fun.

Only collecting the releases I enjoy, see as timeless or have great memories of when I first started listening to them. That is certainly not all of 1-23 for sure. There's a focus on Dan O' Mahoney bands these last few years. I decided to keep out of the YOT variants game, it is too intimidating...and it would mean too many sacrifices in my other (non Rev) collecting goals.
Later era Rev stuff would be : Civ, Speak, Better than a Thousand, Battery, Generations comp. I just can't get into the Into Another's, Iceburn's, Shai Hulud's etc. In My Eyes is cool but 1-2 copies is enough. It's a good thing that Rev is releasing newer and younger bands, but I have yet to fall in love with any recent releases. World Be Free might be the first...
I love tests and acetates, but the prices have indeed gone up 2-4x in only the last 3-4 years. I don't expect to add much more to the number of tests I have.
An interesting question might be :
What percentage (%) of your "records-budget" goes to Revelation releases? You don't have to mention the $$ amount of course.

So many different ways to collect! After this thread I'll consider get rev 23 Ha ha. I've forgot to mention that I do not collect the YOT alternative cover from the 90's, even if they are my favorite band, the graphics are terrible..
Funny enough, all my money now are for the bdtw ww blue, but after that, 100% to rev stuff (I must include I consider ccme orange rev stuff..)
The hardest part comes for me: put aside money, waiting for super rare record, try to beat other bidders or make a crazy offer, spend a lot of money, hope that postal service doesn't lose that record... It's funny yeah

My goal is to gather all regular rev vinyl presses from 80's, 90's and early 00's in mint condition. I also wanna get posters from Bold (speak out), Judge (there will be quiet..), Sense field and Shelter. Otherwise I dig New Age, Conversion, Network Sound, Indecision, Catalyst and Rivalry.
