What do you think, will Rev bring us some nice re-releases for Record Store Day 2012? Any rumours yet? Since Rev is celebrating their 25th anniversary this spring, a repressing of one of the early compilations would be nice. How about a Together 7" on clear blue vinyl? I think that would be awesome...

I think they should make records that have never been pressed on colour vinyl. I don't really care about the NFAA (I think it's a shit record) but I'd love to get SIDE BY SIDE on clear red. I don't know why but I just think the SBS black and white cover would look great with clear red vinyl. Also please no 2 pressings two weeks apart with vinyl colour that was supposed to be the same but comes out different, no fucking "this cover" and "that insert" like with the SOIA etc, just make the 500 or 1000 records and please make them all look the fucking same.

Record Store Day is the 21st of April. I don't care too much for it, but hey if Rev uses this day to repress one or two older records, then I like it. Of course it sucks that half of what record stores sell for $5 or $10 is sold on eBay whitin a few hours, also for eBay prices.
So why were the NFAA 7" and SBS 7" made with a full black and white color scheme in the first place? Was that what the bands wanted? A SBS 7" on clear red vinyl would be cool.
And indeed, no variations please (intended or not intended). Too much stress.
Last year I did hear they were planning to make a 12" version of the Inside Out 7". I don't know if this is still in the making or if they dropped the idea.

How about the Bold 7" on maroon vinyl, like it was supposed to be originally?

Dan O' Mahoney (and NFAA) didn't want coloured vinyl for the record, but I don't know about Side by Side. The label schemes/pressings are the same I thought.
NFAA/Dan was influenced by Kent McClard in that time period, and he consciously chose to put most of his stuff (Ebullition) out on black, and in larger runs (3000-5000, maybe more). Makes sense to me: lower costs, and so lower selling prices. If you want that people buy your record for the music/message, it's the way to go. But if you want to sell 1000 LP's of your record (why?) then by today's standards, you will need at least 4 colours, a record release version and 30 test pressings...

i said this before in my intro post
together comp on some colour...7" or 12" would be really sick supertouch gatefold once and for all
additions: inside out 12" sounds cool. maybe include some of the unreleased tunes as well. warzone ep would make ppl flip out.
something cool with GI JOE related...

I'm down with the Supertouch 12" > Gatefold cover / blue vinyl (matching the earth is flat writing on the cover)
that plus SBS on clear red.
Perfect RSD 2012
For some reason I don't want to touch Together 7"/ there are already 2 colours of that one and I'd leave it at that

i may be the odd one out. but i think if SBS or NFAA wanted to do the vinyl in any color they would have. i think if the bands didn't want color vinyl it should stay black. and maybe do alternate sleeves or something would be cool.
i would be stoked on the supertouch gatefold. also doing the BOLD 7" on marroon is an awesome idea.... i think doing records that were original ideas that were changed last minute is a lot cooler than changing shit up all together.
but what i think would rule the hardest is this year (i believe???) marks 15 years since Raybeez passed away and it would be fucking amazing to do a warzone 15 year memorial release.

While I agree with the NFAA (they actually said they didn't want it) I don't think SBS really gave a wank all that much about the colour vinyl. There was the 12" on blue so I think 7" on colour would not hurt anyone if they just made it one colour in one pressing please.. I would not and I repeat I WOULD NOT under any circumstances try to fuck about with the SBS 7" cover. There's absolutely nothing you could add to it or substruct from it to make it better. And if they wanted to change it all together to something different, judging by the REVs recent graphic design ventures it would most likely turn into a disaster of such proportions that would make Katrina or the recent JP earthquake look like an 80 year old woman's fart in comparison. Changng cover design is a bad bad bad BAD call. Saying that I 100% agree that breathing life into the original ideas that never happened would be an amazing thing to do. SUPERTOUCH gatefold / 300 on blue 700 on black and BOLD 7" 1000 on maroon. Backed

SUPERTOUCH gatefold / 300 on blue 700 on black and BOLD 7" 1000 on maroon. Backed I am backing this too, while I think the Bold 7" wont happen, since the double LP is out. Would be nice to see a Side By Side 7" on white and a Warzone 7" on solid red with red logo on the sleeve.

i guess they'll do something similar to last year.
it's a great way to do a press run of releases that are (almost) OOP and still have a demand. so maybe two or three early singles. was thinking of The Storm but then again i'll bet they will exclude the bands that have an LP version (Bold, Judge, Side By Side, Together compilation)
don't think they'll do a NFAA on color. might be a good time to do a new Warzone pressing.
Last year they did an Elliott LP, this year might be good for some Farside or Sense Field. Oh and the record i'm betting my money on is a colored Perfection Of Desire.

Would love too see The Together comp on clear vinyl, I just think it would look pretty neat.
Black labels with clear vinyl. No variations on the vinyl, I don't know how much it will cost to print huge inserts for them, that might be a downfall.
Also a fan of the Inside Out on green vinyl idea.

I am down with green inside out as long as they change whatever is now blue in the cover to the matching green. And use old insert design, also with matching green. If they keep covers blue the green vinyl will make no sense.

There was some rumour of Rev working on an Inside Out 12" (with unreleased material) last year, so if there is going to be an Inside Out re-release, it's likely that would be a 12"...
