I'm really excited about the LP, cause I NEVER thought I'd get hold of it. It blows me away completely, such a great record. Lyrics, music, Joe D.'s guitar riffs, cover art. I don't understand why this doesn't get more love... This was my biggest want on the list  The 7" test has a small white streak on both sides. I wonder if Ferry's has that too? |

Farside 'Monroe Doctrine' LP Test At this point I have realised that I am never ever going to own half of the Rev 1-10 variants that some dudes on this board own as I don't want to spend the money. If a Warzone on clear came up for sale next week no doubt at least ten people would be willing to pay way more than me. So I'm never going to own one. Same for a lot of the crazy variants. At this point I'm not even bothered. I spent most of the 90s listening to Sensefield, Into Another & Farside so those bands mean more to me than anything else at this point in my life. The only exception is the NYHC Way It Is on green which I would love just because that album is the one record that got me into this crap in the first place, and the green test is obviously an uber cool version. Funnily enough though, I would figure on having a better chance on getting this than getting any of the other 9. Just dug up this thread & my post from a year ago. I can only dream on my top 10 wants / needs since nearly everyone has same wants with maybe 4 copies max of each test. So insted I post my must have asap: Sick of It All s/t 7" 1987 1st press Test press ( 8) 4th press Test press (  ) 5th press Test press ( 4) 6th press Test press ( 4) I hope to have a copy of each pressings test. See me at how's your edge for trade....fingers crossed that either Geoff or Tim have a heart and sell / trade their 1st press test. Also will give a finders gift to anybody who make this happen |

theres a fare amount of sioa tests pressed up, yet they pop up so seldom. its kind of odd. the only other early rev record out there that doesnt pop up much is the together comp test. but clearly, that record is just rare no matter what version you have.
other then finn, tim and mine, i dont know where the other 1st press tests are. there have to be more out there floating around.

Here's how my last year's want list changed:
01. Judge NYC blue with black swirl + re-press test pressings if there are any
02. Judge Storm blank labels
03. Chain TTD blank labels
04. Together test press that I had a chance to own for cheap but I was too stupid and picked other records that are much easier to find
05. Together black orange mix
06. YOT Disengage 1st press test (also had a shot to own that but I blew it)
07. YOT any of the LPs that REV released test presses (there are too many to list)
08. Together on gold / 100
09. GB / 102
10. GB off white
Warzone tests, lion, rejected, clear and green didn't make the list but they would be at 11, 12 etc... I would also like to own SBS 2nd press test and LP test, Chain LP test, SOIA Gilman and few other odds and ends...
And the ultimate want that tops all other wants and that I would sell my children into slavery for: CK test pressing
2nd ultimate want: BID 1st press test pressing

3. Warzone LESC - 1st press (1st press is always better than any later colour vinyl)

5. Together comp - 2nd press gold (orange so as not to confuse anyone)

one can only dream! i would love to have the first two records on this list. everything else woud be nice, but those first 2 would rule. ive passed on both of them a couple of times each because i just could not cough up the amount needed to get them. huge mistake, made multiple times. hahaha oh well, live and learn. 1 - warzone, aborted press1 - the way it is, test press on green 2 - together, orange and black mix 3 - warzone, first press test 4 - GB, test on grey 5 - GB, start today test 6 - Judge, BID test 7 - NFAA, 1st press test i think i will end it at 8. hmm, forgot about this thread. i can knock off my top want from it. now, how will i get my new top want? |
