At least a hunderd if you count (promo and tour pressings which are actually test pressings.)
I can't say no to a very good offer.

This poll made me curious. I never counted or even attempted to count my records. I was not so much interested in how many tests I own but what is the ratio of tests to regular pressings. It took me about 10 seconds to count all of my records and another 4 seconds to get all the tests together. Numbers don't lie. I pasted my HYE list to dreamweaver and it showed me that I currently own 1461 records. The I picked out all the tests and it came down to 79. I am now waiting for at least 3 extra tests so that would be 1464 / 82 ratio which works out at about 5.7% So the tests consist of 5.7% of my entire vinyl collection. The one that I don't really give a shit would be the CRR comp test. I only keep it as I consider it a part of Floorpunch discography. But it is a shit record. Writing this makes me think and cry over the tests I did own and stupidly sold a while back. Especially all of my AN, Carry On, TFS tests...

if you count (promo and tour pressings which are actually test pressings.) Promos and tour pressings are technically NOT test pressings. Sometimes tests are used as promos (Minor Threat) or sold on tour (Supertouch) but if you take a regular press and slap a "promo" sticker on it it will not automatically turn it into a test pressing..

Pollmaster here.... Promos don't count unless it's a Minor Threat release. Mr. Nico, please re-count and re-vote. Myself: 54 27 7" tests 1 10" test 32 LP tests 2 acetates ...and 2 more tests in the mail, of which one is an early Rev. Can leave the house: Majority of One-Think about Tommorrow LP Test

I just checked. 134 tests = 3.4% of collection.
Of course, the only real answer to the poll is 'Not enough'.

Only got 7 tests, not sure of the ratio, will figure that out later. I need many many more. I havn't counted it but since the PX 7" didn't have tests that would also technically be a test press I guess.

Ofcourse I agree with you on that last part, normal pressings with a sticker of a cut out of the sleeves aren't test pressings and ofcourse I didn't count them as such. Big record labels doing a run with promo labels arent test pressings in my book either. But I do have a bunch of (later) Dischord test presses which are usually pressed in quantities of 50 or 100 and sended out as promo. Or when a band makes 100 or 150 test presses to sell on tour, to limited the waiting time for the new record to show up. I consider these test pressings, since the have the factory label or a white label. So I am unsure based on your first sentence in what way or opinion on test presses differ.

I currently have 55 test presses, with 5-6 that may go, the rest is stuff I still care alot: FREEWILL, VERBAL ASSAULT, INSTED, TFS, CHAMPION, BETRAYED, OUTSPOKEN, ATARI, MOUTHPIECE, UNIFORM CHOICE, CARRY ON, GO IT ALONE, IN MY EYES, FLEX YOUR HEAD COMP., GROWING STRONGER COMP. etc. . My main test press want is the FAITH/VOID split 12" test, anybody has one just in case ?? other than these ones, I doubt I will add many to my collections anymore, my wants are too pricey for me these days.... The rarest one that I may sell is the Pressure Release 7" test on New Age

I'm not sure how many test pressings I have, but I know its a good % of my collection - as my collection is quite small.

Grand total of two tests in my collection or 0.0005%. I checked the math twice!
Both tests I own are from my own bands. I guess that says something about me.
How many more posts until I get this Onion 12" stink off me? ;D

I completely forgot that I have a test pressing of the original 1985 Live Aid 7" with the Let It Be track on it that I keep together with the Chumba's Scab Aid version of that very same Beatles' song.

About 30 my favourite, because its one of my fave records..faith/void with ad flyer on white cardstock sleeve and with the pasted on labels which don't quite cover the "test press"on the labels.. although I missed a rudimentary peni farce 12" from the same seller because I didn't realise what it was..and that it was so rare.an he only wanted 25$
