With September’s SPIN campaign just around the corner the Discogs Database team has been digging into the DB to identify some of the more salient gaps we know of.
We pulled out the primary Format, the Genre and the Country of every Release that had such information available, and plotted it against the Year of Release.
This gave us a general idea of when certain Formats ruled the industry, when different Genres were in and out of vogue and where the Releases came from.
•In what year of release did the release of CDs overtake Vinyl as the most common format on Discogs?
