Hi,
I know that a lot of you guys collect records by this band and probably also ordered the final press from Youngblood Records. I placed my order and paid for it way back in January and have yet to recieve the records.
Sean has updated on the debacle twice, maybe three times. I can fill you in on some of the details of the latest email if anyone is interested, but as for now: has anyone else not yet recieved their NT records?

Mine arrived yesterday. Bear in mind Sean is a one man operation and I think he gets really snowed under with new releases. The Line of sight 7" has just come out too so he will be busy.

Does anyone know Sean personally? Can someone help and tell him to respond to emails please. Or tell him to take his fucking business seriously and honor the pre-orders people were willing to trust him with or refund people. It's ridiculous to create this situation for a customer where I feel like I'm pushed to go on an internet rampage and start calling him out on social media. What kind of behavior is that to send out an email months ago telling me that my order is not lost, but not to contact him about the issue? This is the worst experience I've had with a label and I'm pretty sure others would like to know about this.

Just a heads up, if anyone sees a test press of the You Walk Alone LP on Painkiller for sale on discogs from seller DisconnectedRecords, these were copies stolen from the pressing plant and should be avoided. He's sold 2 already and is in for a serious ass kicking.

The guy was working at Cascade Record Pressing in Portland doing quality control checks on the test presses... he was making extra copies and taking them home to sell on ebay/discogs. Looks like he ripped off records from a ton of other bands/labels too -- Iron Lung Records, Dais, Radio Raheem, Rest in Pieces/Killing Time/Raw Deal reissues, even big ticket stuff like Pearl Jam fan club and Sub Pop releases.

That might explain the difference in the Southern Lord repress Test of the UC - Screaming. I got mine from the label and it’s totally different from the others I’ve seen that have the cascade labels.

Well, this video is from the Southern Lord Facebook page in 2016, before the record was released...the same Cascade labels! The tests were received from the plant. Also, the matrix of the test press I bought from the Disconnected guy is identical to the regular release matrix. www.facebook.com/SLadmin/videos/pcb.1143344985735469/1143340799069221/?type=3&theater

That explains a few things. And he probably got fired, I'd guess. Got this message on October 21st... "DISCONNECTED RECORDS HAS MOVED! I am no longer at Cascade Record Pressing but I'm still in the record manufacturing business. If you're looking for hi quality records with a quick turnaround time, get at me!" This makes more sense after your post.

That explains a few things. And he probably got fired, I'd guess. Yup, the plant owner told me he was fired back in April for being a fuckup. They didn't know he had stolen all these tests until recently.

No need to feel so disconnected. It's really quite simple. Currently we have releases with a... -rejected test pressing (can't hear the snare, singer sounds like cookie monster, mysteriously missing bass parts. Redo this shit.) -accepted test pressing (sounds good mate) -stolen test pressing (band/label ordered 20 tests and got only 15....OR.....band/label ordered 20 and got 20, but plant-worker made an extra 5 tests just to be sure)

I mailed Southern Lord to ask how many UC tests were made and what they look like, twice. No response though.

Perhaps you got an Original 1st press test hahaha
I checked the orange/100 Euro pressing, and the matrix stays the same (as clear, black and tests)
What does the matrix on your white label test say? Same as regular pressings?

Weird thought: maybe the Disconnected dude made a few extra tests and sent some blank label tests to Southern Lord? So that he could sell a few with Cascade labels on discogs (since it would seem more legit with proper labels to buyers.)

Yup, the plant owner told me he was fired back in April for being a fuckup. They didn't know he had stolen all these tests until recently. Did he steal them or make his own? I’m confused. Depending on who's pressing the record there are always a few extra tests that either stay at the plant or are sent to your sales rep/broker in case there are issues with the pressing. So one of 2 things happened -- either he took home the plant's file copies, or he just added a few extra copies to the batch and took those home (more likely the latter). Like the No Tolerance LP, I only ordered 5 copies, and I got 5 copies (all of which are accounted for between the band and label)... so at this point with the 2 he sold on Discogs there are at least 7 copies, maybe more if the plant still has their file copies. I guess we'll never know. At any rate, if anyone here bought one of the two copies on Discogs, it should have hand written labels from the plant like this -- Attachments:
