There are more pressings of the black vinyl, and i have also a pressing on which the vinyl itself is thicker so heavier than all the previous versions(i bought it on ebay a few years ago), and a few weeks ago a new pressing came out and is available at REVHQ, if i read it correctly with the new mastering on it(same as the cd that is already out for a longer time)
So no doubt here that there might be also a new set of testpressings.

Jeff, Can you weigh the records and tell me the differences? The rest is all the same? Matrix, labels, etc?

Black vinyl, non-embossed glossy sleeve. Lyric sheet is black with white text. MUCH heavier than the original pressing

Can you post weights (in grams) of the 2 vinyl copies? Hey, sorry but i don't have a scale. If you're interested, i could post the matrix numbers. Strangely enough, i have two different later pressings, and only one is particularly thick and heavy. The other is very similar to the original

Hey, if matrix numbers will differentiate between them, that's fine. I have a scale, but have only one later regular black pressing (with DD).

Ok, so... comparing the matrices of one original pressing and two later pressings:
All three have "we're a soccer team..." and "zip, bang, boom..." hand etched.
THE ORIGINAL PRESSING (embossed sleeve) side a: REV - 12 - A hand etched, mastered by trutone stamped, then - P9.589 close to the label side b: REV - 12 - B hand etched, mastered by trutone stamped, then - p9.589 close to the label
THE HEAVY LATER PRESSING: side a: identical to the original pressin side b; REV - 12 - B hand etched, then S - 22384 hand etched, mastered bt trutone stamped close to the label.
THE LIGHTER LATER PRESSING: matrices are identical to the other later pressing.

And my matrix has a RE-1 on side B, the Remastered version (it's one with a digital dl)

I dont know why this never occured to me: 1st press : 4977 black vinyl 1015 purple vinyl Embossed cover. Seal on shrink rap runs top to bottom on purple copies, left to right on black copies. Different pressing plants were used for the black vinyl vs. the colored which explains the differences in shrink rap seals.
If different pressing plants were used for the purple and the black as we are led to believe, then there should be two sets of 1st press test pressings with different matrix numbers. Even if they used the same plates shipped to a different plant then there should be another set of test pressings
