So after what seemed to be a lifetime. I finally got my hands on a Gilman street with both stamps. After asking people from all around Europe, America and Japan as it turned out I only had to drive 10 minutes from my house to pick this one up. So that was very handy and a huge win for me :-) Shot at 2012-07-04 Shot at 2012-07-04 Shot at 2012-07-04 Shot at 2012-07-04

Thanks guys !
The full story behind me attaining the record is A guy by the name of Matt who sings in a band called Mindsnare (great band btw) finally wanted to sell some of his collection. He has had most of his records since the mid 90's.
I got news that he had a Gilman Street, I had to see it to believe it. So before his collection went to A record fair last Saturday I was lucky enough to go through and grab the record before it hit record fair.
My great find of the year.

Try 100+% overcharge on some packets to Japan. I said it before and I'll say it again. REV makes more money on the postage scam they're running than on the actual merch.

thats why i prefer to buy directly from a local record store or even ebay it not long after...i can pick up a 7" for $10-$14 at a local store, the same 7" with shipping would be closer to $20 if i ordered it direct...ebay being hit and miss i wait till the hype is over for that record try to pick one up for under $10 maybe grab a couple more of the same seller to save postage...call me stupid for buying things straight away but to me this works a bit better, plus if i sleep on it for a while i really know if i want it

So callled postage scam works both ways. I was recently charged $20 shipping from Sweden but I can ship same shirt under $10.
Also I've stopped buying from Japanese ebayers since never boxed up to protect wax and takes 4 or 5 items to make postage work

Also I've stopped buying from Japanese ebayers since never boxed up to protect wax and takes 4 or 5 items to make postage work I think you've missed the point being made here. The 'postage scam' mentioned was not referring to how expensive overseas shipping is, nor about how people pack records. It was specifically about how RevHQ seem to charge significantly more for postage than what the actual postage costs are on any parcels received. So they charge you $20 and when the parcel arrives it has $10 of postage on it, for example. On a similar yet different note, I ordered some stuff from Dischord a couple of years ago. A couple of days after the order I got an email from someone saying that they were going to refund me some money because the actual costs at the post office were less than what their store had charged me. In the end the refund was about $2, so hardly worth the effort, but I really admired the gesture.

Those Quicksand on clear green with black smudge, how noticeable and large are those smudges?
I ordered two copies from Revelation, one was pristine clear green, the other had nickel size black smudge, which looked like a fingerprint.

I forgot to mention the important bit:
REV062 Youth Of Today Can't Close My Eyes LP $11.00 x 1 = $11.00 REV062A Youth Of Today Can't Close My Eyes LP $11.00 x 1 = $11.00 REVPAT07 Youth Of Today Fist Embroidered Patch $3.50 x 1 = $3.50
Total: $25.50 Shipping Charges: $27.00 Grand Total: $52.50
ACTUAL POSTAGE = $16
Profit on each LP: I don't know what Raibo charges now per record? $4-$6?? Let's say they make $5 on each LP
Profit on the patch: $2.50(?)
Profit on postage: $11 (this time, they made lots more in the past)
The postage scam is a lucrative biz. I don't know how many international orders they fill. 100+ per day? That's an easy grand a day for nothing. That's $30K per month and that's $360,000 per year and this is a VERY nice executive annual salary.
I like to contribute to saving the vinyl and I will continue to support the labels I like but I would appreciate if those labels didn't make me feel like I get ripped off in the process.

2 brand new sealed LPs delivered to your door for $52.50..$26 a record? how much would they cost you in your local record store? about the same or less? i dont want to start a big debate about this because i think its a little bit trivial but i also think that $11 profit your talking about isnt as accurate as you may think, including all the costs of running a business and handling processes..not saying its a lot less than $11 but it would still be less...
on Ebay they will probably sell for $20+ each plus postage..
also in regards to dobek getting the records before geoff, i have always found sending stuff to and from japan to be ridiculously quick, and i live in Australia, iv had packages arrive from japan quicker than packages interstate..no idea why but its pretty cool
