Are there yellow copies numbered on the dust sleeve or just the inside of the picture sleeve? I swear I've seen both but mine is just on the lip of the pic sleeve and faintly on the B-side label.

I think only on the inside of the folded cover, and also on the label on the vinyl.(in the star) jeff xXx

So this is my first post on this board. Whoop whoop! I have a together 7" that i bought in the late 90s from Robby Redcheeks. It was labeled as a first press but after I've read this thread I'm starting to think that it might not be so. Instead it appears to be a 2nd press. I hope that someone can help me sort this out! Label Label Stamped sleeve Yellow insert in two pieces

thomasxxx welcome to the board! First the cover, is it folded at the bottom or are the front and back two seperate pieces? The second press cover either has a fold at the top of the cover (which yours clearly does not have) or the front and back are two seperate pieces. It could just be me but the inserts don't really look yellow, the just look a little off white from age.

Regarding the inserts they are more yellowish than the picture shows. Bad lighting. I tried another photo to show. How yellow should it be? Like the warzone insert? What about the stamp? Anyone else seen stamped first presses?

I just asked Robby and he doesn't remember the story of why it's stamped

You can see a yellow insert next to a white insert on here. It's not like the Warzone insert, but looks much yellower than you pics. SeekingthesimpleAs far as it being numbered, never heard of it. Maybe since the one earlier in the thread was number 98 they numbered the first 100 like the Warzone first press? Not sure, but that would be my guess.

Knowing Robby and his collection at the time (a bunch of which I bought) there's a good chance that record came from someone like Ray or Porcell or Malcolm Trash

I guess it's a first press after all.

Did any of the yellow vinyl copies come unnumbered? I'm guessing maybe the copies that were given to band members did while the mailorder copies were numbered. Any ideas?

I just noticed something a little amusing. I was bouncing around just nerding out on pressing info and I came across the Discogs page for the yellow copy of this and noticed the pictures for the vinyl changed. The new photos show a copy (seen below) with tons of black spots in it. I myself do not have a yellow copy to compare, but out of all the ones I've seen, I don't think I've ever seen one like it. Anyone else have one with black spots? (again the pictures are not mine, they were uploaded by "otlevel7" a month ago)

my orange vinyl has a large yellow folded insert, the same as my 2nd press insert (sleeve in two pieces) . was the orange vinyl supposed to come with a different insert? I just picked up a double on orange, and it also has a yellow insert like the 2nd press. Even stranger though, is that the sleeve is a clean photocopy cover (folding at bottom) that is nice than the 4th press photocopy cover. It is not a printed style cover like the other first press orange I have with the white insert. The printed sleeve also has a slight yellow cast to the paper. I wonder which cover your orange has - the off-white printed sleeve or the white nice photocopy sleeve?

I now own two different copies of the 1st press on Orange and neither of them have an insert.
Is this a common occurance?
Might anyone have a pdf/scan of the inserts or a spare copy of them?

It’s seen those comps too without their inserts. As the inserts are so big some people have kept them separate from the record to prevent damage - only for the inserts to be lost over time!
