That is a 1st press on black. You can tell from the lyric sheet. You should have two fold out lyric sheets.

Is it an idea to start up a list with names same as the chung king from this pressing?:
3rd Press 100 Gold vinyl - The dust sleeve and the b side has a number stamp.
Because my copy which i have for so many years, has 2 different numbers stamped on the vinyl and the sleeve, so i like to find out in the end ;-) if it was a stamp mistake or that it got switched at revelation by mistake or afterwards at someones house?

My stamp on the sleeve and the b-side are different too. Might put together a "where are they" section on the board. For stuff like the chung king / GB #/102 + more stuff?

That would be a great thing, although it will be hard to get all the people to give there numbers but let's start and see how far it comes. If i'm correct we had contact in the past about these different numbers or perhaps it was someone else also with different numbers. I will look this evening what my numbers are and will post it, if i remembered it right the numbers are 3 and 13. jeff xXx

Does anyone know why the testpressings are different? mine has a small hole in the vinyl and have seen a few also with a small hole but on the rev site is a testpressing photo i think from kevin with a big hole.

Yeah I've noticed that too. maybe there are more than one set of test press's. Should check the matrix of your test and see which one it matches. Maybe one version is a re-ject version... who knows?

when one of the tests were being sold on ebay a few years ago, i emailed Jordan about the difference in the holes, i asked him if it was a different pressing or possibly a reject and he couldn't recall either. so who knows.

I have a black copy and the sleeve is numbered. I'm pretty sure it's a first press, but I'm not sure why it's numbered. It didn't come with any inserts, unfortunately. If anyone can photocopy me some / scan some I would greatly appreciate it!

If anyone can photocopy me some / scan some I would greatly appreciate it! Hi Seanbct - Have you just picked this record up? Sure i saw it on a messagebord a few weeks / days ago. I haven't checked the matrix with the different press's on black vinyl. But the Sleeve sounds like its a 3rd press sleeve if it has a number stamp on it. You should send us a photo. It sounds like someone has put together a sleeve with this black vinyl. The vinly could be 1st 2nd or 4th press. At a guess I would say it was 1st or 2nd. Why? Because I know a few people who have lost their lyric sheets with the 1st - 3rd press's, as the lyric sheets when folded are quite big, so some people took them out of the record sleeve to protect the record, so it didn't get damaged, but by doing they lost the lyric sheet. Hope that helps.

I said it was either 1st, 2nd or 4th as those are the press's that had black vinyl versions. I havent checked the matrix for the different press's yet.

Here are some photos of mine. No inserts except for the tradelist, but the sleeve is numbered. Not too sure why the picture is sideways, I rotated it on photobucket but looks like it didn't transfer here to well. Also, if anyone has the inserts scanned / can scan for me I would greatly appreciate it. I want some inserts until I track down a complete copy / original inserts.

my orange vinyl has a large yellow folded insert, the same as my 2nd press insert (sleeve in two pieces) . was the orange vinyl supposed to come with a different insert?

Just found this forum and wanted to add to this discussion. Back in 1988 or 1989 I was on the hunt for an unrelated piece of vinyl and my research (zines and Maximum Rock n Roll) led me to Kane Productions in California. Called and spoke with them and ended up picking up a few pieces of vinyl. We agreed to a price for the pieces I was looking for, and I then asked if he had anything else NYHC-related laying around. This is when he said he had the test pressing. He added it in and I mailed a check that I had to beg my mom for 2 weeks later the package arrived. The test press didn't have a sleeve and it had a plain white label - I was bummed. A few weeks later I brought it into Venus Records on West 8th and traded it for 2 EPs - Crippled Youth and Cause for Alarm - both of which I would have never been able to afford at that time. I was pumped and my friends offered insane trade bait for the Crippled Youth piece. Life was great. I've beaten myself up many times about this decision.
